Diversity may mean different things to different people. To me, diversity is exactly that, being different and unique. Diversity makes the world a beautiful place to be, and full of interesting and different people. The beauty of human civilization lies in its diverse groups and cultures.
As a small child, I grew up in India, a place well known for its cultural, linguistic and genetic diversity. As a child I have lived in many different places. As my dad climbed up the corporate ladder, we relocated to five different states in India. Each move made me stronger as I had to continuously get used to different schools, teaching methods and still adapt to the different environments. After each move, I had to make new friends and start over each time. Although not every move was easy, I soon started enjoying it and looked forward to learning something new about a different place. Therefore, when my father informed me that we were going to relocate to USA, I was on top of the moon. I looked forward to a new environment and new experiences. Despite all the different moves, I found my relocation to Maryland one of the hardest. I soon realized that the schooling was very different and people even talked differently. I didn’t even know we could use calculators in Math class!
In a short span of three years in

Diversity has given me a strong determination to face any new challenge confidently. Every move was unique in its own way. I have understood that beneath every culture, people are the same and that each culture presents a new perspective, new life style and a rich learning experience. With this outlook on diversity, I am confident that I can blend with the student community from all over the world. I would focus on human values of the people I meet and endeavor to promote thought
but not just as a whole but as individuals. Being able to open up to people who are different from you and not judging anyone different. The equality, unity, and freedom to express their mood, lifestyle, food, culture, and ethnicity freely and others adapting to it or be mindful of it. The open community of accepting everyone and not choosing or judging something for it’s difference. Diversity is seen in many ways and means many things.

My move from my home state of Maryland to Georgia has greatly influenced my goals and perspectives. When I lived in the city area of Maryland, I had a limited viewpoint of life as a person who knew only of the city and had relaxed belief of living only within my comfort zone of what a city had to offer, however that changed when I moved to Georgia. Georgia proved itself to be a very different experience for me. Georgia is a lot bigger than Maryland so there was more place for its cities to be more spread apart and the environment had a more forestry background than what I knew at the young age. The change of setting and accustoms associated from the very different places made me realize that depending on a person’s position one object can be
The world needs a diverse set of people because if each person was the same, there would not be different opinions or ideas. Therefore, it is important to be different because diversity helps create change, growth, innovations, and solutions. If individuals were more accepting of others and worked together, the world would be a better place. This would have a positive impact on technology and a different perspective

One of the most difficult things I have ever experienced is moving to Idaho before my junior year of high school from Utah. Despite this being a common occurrence for people it was hard for me because it uprooted me from the community I had lived in for the past seven years, and the people I loved. It caused me to leave friends that I grew up with and that I couldn’t imagine leaving. And forced me to meet new friends and discover a new place. As I have had time to reflect on my experiences it causes me to realize that it doesn’t matter where you are, or the people you know, but how you react in the situation.
Diversity is showing variety, or being different. It is clear that this could easily lead to the downfall of the United States we know today. When two people have a disagreement, in a way, it’s diversity. But if there is too much diversity, people could develop completely different ideas, which could lead to arguments, and then to separations.

Diversity plays a big role in my community in, St. Cabrini Nursing Home. As social workers we work in different levels such as micro, mezzo, and macro and within those levels our clients are very diverse in many different ways. Diversity comes in many different forms such as age, race, color, religion, immigration status, culture, disability ethnicity, and sexual orientation. Those are just some or the many that define diversity. Diversity impacts my community in the nursing home because in this nursing home the majority of the residents are all Caucasians and the majority of the staff members are African Americans.
I believe that one of the methods I would bring diversity into the campus community is through my interests. I am interested in astrophysics, computer science, and tennis. I have a few interests in the Japanese and French cultures as well. Furthermore, I have also had the opportunity to fill several leadership positions.

It is important to have diversity in dolls because it shows how all people are treated equally, how their religion is, and culture. You can learn how kids want to know more about other people’s race based on the dolls. Everybody can learn what diversity is by the dolls and what diversity means. This is how diversity affects kids and what effect is has on kids today. Kids don’t have a good understanding of why their are so many blonde dolls and not brown or black haired dolls.
As a gay, black man, raised in a predominantly white and heteronormative suburb of Georgia, I long for diversity and a change in scenery. When I visited California in July of this year, I felt an immediate, strong connection to the way of life, the people, the personalities, and the ambiance. I knew that I needed to be somewhere where I could be unapologetically me and be accepted for it, and I feel like I could find that in California. I have always been a very expressive individual, whether that is through my appearance or just speaking my mind. My mother is a very closed-minded individual, and because of this, she and I have always had problems with her blocking said expressiveness.
As someone who ventured out of a small town that was very close-minded to the outside world, I understand the value of embracing different viewpoints. This is why the mission of Georgetown resonates with me. Additionally, advocating for the underserved and treatment of the whole person are principals that Georgetown values which directly align with my own. Throughout my life, I have been a part of and witnessed the consequences of being a minority.
I went to 3 different high schools and have lived in 3 different states. Moving from New York, to New Orleans and finishing off at Georgia, felt like I went to 3 different parts of the world. Everything about each state is so different, and the rules are not even close to being the same. The food, the political views, the law, and even the weather were completely different. However, what made the most difference was the high school.
