One of the most important leadership roles I’ve had is being Editor and Chief of the Yearbook, The Pinnacle, committee at Pikesville High. Being the Editor and Chief requires creativity, communication, collaboration, patience, and responsibility. Prior to becoming the Editor in Chief I was just a part of the committee for two years. My sophomore year was my first year in Yearbook and I was just learning about the in’s and Out’s about how to create a successful yearbook. I learned all the fundamentals like how to interview people and how to write interesting stories called Body Copy’s for any sport, club, or event. It ended up being one of my favorite classes so I decided to retake it again my junior year. I was able to get a feel on how it was to be Editor in Chief. My teacher trusted me to become one of the mini editors and I had a lot more responsibilities and people to manage under my belt. I learned about the design process and the importance of meeting deadlines and marketing trying to sell the book to people. If you showed that you showed that you cared about the success of …show more content…
If anyone has any questions they expect you to give them a direct, honest and truthful answer. Everyone relies on you to keep everything in order. Their expectations are high for the outcome of the book and everyone is willing to put their best effort to make sure this book is better than the years prior. The yearbook committee meets every other day in the same room for last period. Everyone sits at least two to three seats away from each other but when someone needs help or it’s time to start to working together as a team we all gather in the center of the room and it instantly feels like a family. Everyone gets along well in and out of the classroom and of that room and I love it. One of the many things I love about that class is how I could be having a bad day and soon as a I come to Yearbook I feel
I have worked to expand my leadership skills at the district level in budgeting, leadership, project management and application of Career and Technical Education (CTE) initiatives, aligning frameworks, connecting with Middle School programs, Advisory Committees and Technology Initiatives. I work with Sumner's CTE staff to complete
I have worked in many leadership roles in the past, which include dealing with both children and young adults that has caused me to build a huge amount of patience. I am a very confident and optimistic woman who is very encouraging and will push anyone to their full potential. I am able to adapt to many different situations and able to interact with a wide variety of personalities. I am a very dedicated and passionate person, who puts their all into everything they do. I have mediated conflicts before, as well as delegated for those who have felt they had no voice.
Here I serve on a leadership team charged with not just the duties of being a role model for our Youth Group but also with assisting teachers, leading small groups, and making any new attendees feel welcome. The next of my many
The National Junior Honor Society is in charge of some of Westampton Middle School’s most memorable and successful projects. The success of the National Junior Honors Society depends heavily on the reliability of its members. I feel that my reliability can be part of the force that keeps this trend going. Have all of the members done their jobs? The club can only move forward if the answer is ‘yes’.
Max of 110 words each Leadership/group contributions: Describe examples of your leadership experience and share how you have significantly influenced others, helped resolve disputes, or contributed to group efforts over time. Consider responsibilities you have taken for initiatives in or out of school. I have been involved in my school’s Link Crew program since my junior year of high school. Through this program I have been able to help incoming freshmen adjust to the high school environment, and have gained skills in leadership and public speaking for myself. When I first joined Link Crew, I was not very confident in leading groups or talking to large groups in general.
Build positive relationships with students will help establish a more comfortable classroom environment. Michie have put a great amount of effort at trying to get to know his students on a more personal level, such as through individual home visiting and personal questionnaires about each student’s likes and dislikes about school. In order for students to feel that the information is relevant to them, teachers should make connections and relate to real life examples. Michie uses his past classroom experiences to connect to his students and further sparks class discussion. Michie would try to relate to what the students were going through in their lives to get to know them better.
While attending St Joseph’s College I have taken leadership roles within my community and within the classroom. In my community, I have helped organize two teams to participate in the Breast Cancer Awareness walk and
There was a time when I can help student understand the concept better during school and it help them get their grades better. These leadership help me impact a positive change to not just me but to people who wanted
My leadership role comes more into play when I have to direct employees or when I train them. Since this is my last semester I didn’t have the opportunity to do volunteer work because I wanted to focus on my current classes. Although just before this semester I had the opportunity to do my internship at the Boys and Girls Club of Garden Grove. At this site I volunteered and helped plan daily activities for the kids I also assisted the supervisor with paper work and a few other tasks. In this position I was viewed as a leader by the children because they were aware that I was part of the team and they were also told that they had to follow my directions.
But, I am working on it! I’m uber creative and i’m learning how to become a teacher so this position would help me. I have had leadership in my past job and at the YMCA. I have been a camp counselor for the past 6 years and last year I was a head counselor. Also, at the YMCA I was in Leader’s club for three years.
As I went into high school, I started to see that I liked to be a leader. I could see in it simple things, such as how I would take charge of a team project so that everyone’s things were organized and task got done when they need to, or taking control and organizing a night out with friends. Having leadership skills is a challenging strength, I always want to make sure that things are handled right and everyone is treated fairly. This can be nerve-racking in situations when I am not the leader. Working in my father’s company, Leatherman Contractor, has helped me to develop my leadership skills.
When I walked into the first classroom I observed in the teacher greeted me, along with all her other students, with a bright smile. This made me feel welcomed right away and I am sure all the students felt
When I was in German school, I had the honor of being class president, where I learned about leading people for the first time, which later allowed me to become an effective leader in a variety of situations.
I have had many opportunities to grow as a leader through my involvement in clubs and organizations both inside and outside school. I have developed leadership skills through my involvement in student government and community theatre. My involvement in both student government and community theatre has not only made me a better leader, but also a more confident and organized person. In the spring of my junior year, I was elected as the Student Body President of the Alamance-Burlington Middle College for the 2017-2018 school year.
It is important to have respect throughout the classroom, both between students and between teacher and students. When students feel respected and a sense of belonging within the classroom they will be more likely to participate and contribute. My desire for them is to feel at ease - never hesitating to raise any questions or concerns that may arise. To ensure this type of environment I will hold classroom meetings to strengthen our classroom community by having everyone support and encourage one another. It is important to me that every student feels safe in my classroom and feels like they can approach me with any issue they may
