When people think of small town beauty pageants, Drop Dead Gorgeous is a good film to make their image come to film. The film has a good satirical comedic plot with hints of dark humor that many young adults or teens would find humorous. The mockumentary style dark comedy is about a Minnesota, small town beauty pageant. The story follows a group of teenage contestants as they compete for the title of Mount Rose America Teen Princess. The documentary-style film features many interviews with the contestants, their families, and the pageant officials. Strengths: Thoroughly in my opinion the film Drop Dead Gorgeous was a well made satirical film. In my experience with competing in pageants they did a good job nailing the stereotypes of certain people and making it humorous. I loved the exaggerations and dark humor that came with this film. The directors did a great job portraying a small town beauty pageant as along with making it funny.
Weaknesses: As of weaknesses in this film, I couldn’t find many personally other than the acting. Some of the scenes could have been better acted out, for example the fight between Amber Atkins and Becky Leeman. I want to believe that purposely wanted it to have cringy acting but not one person makes that

This movie did a great job in making people think about how media has manifested our thoughts. Also one interesting point raised in the movie is that many film stars and super models, rather than few succesful females, are considered to be the representations of all women. And one explanation of these misrepresentation given in the movie is beucase majority members of decision board are men. This is actually a visous cycle. Many young women would actuallly believe in those

The 2009 film Jennifer’s Body was met with poor box office performance and lackluster reviews from critics at the time of its release despite its producers’ wholehearted attempts to market it on star Megan Fox’s allure without any regard to writer Diablo Cody’s original vision. In the utmost fairness, what was to be expected from a marketing strategy summarized as ‘Jennifer sexy, she steal your boyfriend’ [sic] and a predominantly male base of critics in an industry desensitized to its own mistreatment of women? The film ultimately wouldn’t find its footing until ten years later, when it found its footing as the feminist horror classic it was always supposed to be and Fox, objectified for much of her career, gained more respect for roles where
The Pageant Underbelly - An Analysis of “Toddlers in Tiaras” Skip Hollandsworth, American author, and journalist wrote the article “Toddlers in Tiaras” in 2011.
