Date rape continue to create conflicts throughout the nation. It has been going on for thousands of years and it should have been obstructed a long time ago. Facing date rape is very serious and many people do not understand how deeply it can affect the victim. It triggers the individual to do hurtful things that can impact his or her life forever. Date rape is a complete menacing and intolerable act that should be immediately prevented due to the troubling obstacles that individuals encounter.

Others may believe the perpetrator suffer more than the victim. Believe it or not, both the victim and perpetrator can suffer the same amount. Everyone knows how horrible the victim might feel after being violated, but the perpetrators may have encountered conflicts in their lives as well. The perpetrator may have been raped as a child or recently, and copes with their situation by hurting someone else. Degrading the perpetrator would not make the situation better because no one has a perfect life and no one knows wat others go through. The perpetrator might have a mental problem or dominant ways that he or she cannot control. They feel the same pain the victims may feel. Instead of seeing them as being a nuisance to society, individuals should see them as a person willing to improve and make a change. In a report by the Bureau of Justice Statistics, it was found that 75 to 77 percent of sexual assaults, attempted rapes, and completed rapes were never reported (“Sexual Assault and Rapes”). Furthermore, the blame of the whole event was never put on the person responsible. Instead, the victim was blamed for not denying the advances, or for not making themselves clearer in their intents(“Sexual Assault and Rapes”). This huge chip to carry often leaves the victims feeling isolated, scared, full of shame, depressed, and with a low self-esteem(“Sexual Assault and Rapes”).
While the laws that govern rape have changed dramatically since the 19th century, the general premise of rape hasn’t. Men are still using the same 200 year old tactics to rape and dominate women. They are exploiting close relationships for an easier rape. Men continue to belittle women by convincing them that they are dependent upon men in order to survive. High ranking individuals still use their economic and social power against women of lower status to discredit their accusations.
The correlation from the countries highlighted with the issue at hand is society’s global response, which is ignoring the issue. In Spain and the United States such cases can be brought to trail but are extremely hard to try in court.

Some inmates could portray the role of acting as if they are there for the victim to talk to, but there are other things that could result from this.

According to an estimation one third of women experience a forced sexual experience at least once in their life and most of the time it occurs in colleges. Men have also been reported to be victim of sexual assaults mostly by other men.
