I strongly believe that WW2 could not have been avoided. This is because the three nations or axis (Germany, Italy, and Japan), had all been fighting for the same cause. Retaining their country’s pride, imperialism, and the fight for resources post-WW1. Furthermore, Germany had wanted to retain its pride, since it had been called upon as the reason for all the losses and damages done by WW1, which is quite controversial. By invading countries, Germany will regain the sense of pride and accomplishment as a nation. Although, Italy had also been a partner of Germany in the WW1 they had not been stripped of their pride in that sense, but had instead looked back into history and had chosen to reestablish the grounds they relentlessly tried to attain, notably this had been their unsuccessful invasion on Ethiopia. By successfully invading the country again, they were capable of retaining their …show more content…
Germany, had easily invaded the Rhineland territories due to the German’s rapid militarization. By doing so, they had been able to establish more land, which had essentially given them much more occupation. Also their invasion had been a barometer measuring how the League Of Nations would react. Italy on the other hand, had been undergoing imperialism to regain their pride and essential strong points in the sense where another war would arise. In turn, this allowed them to seize control of more land and have different points of attack and defence. As for Japan, the main reason for their imperialism had been to gain resources and undertake a region that was facing turmoil and political instability. By invading Manchuria, they were capable of expanding their densely populated nation into more surface area, whilst providing themselves with essential resources to establish much more infrastructure essential to the nation’s
When it comes to the countries that were cause of WWI Germany’s nationalism was reflected by their military and industrial strength, France wanted to regain power over Europe and the other reason was Alsace and Larraine that were give by force to Germany and erg to regain that area was another nationalistic reason for France to go against
On March 8th, 1936, Paris had come to The League of Nations seeking help. Germany had taken back the Rhineland, which according to (Document 3) states: “Hitler concluded, “I look upon this day as marking the close of the struggle for German equality status and with that re-won equality the path is now clear for Germany’s return to European collective cooperation”.
One of the largest wars in history could have been stopped if the right path had been taken. Before World War 2, the countries of the war were stumped on how to deal with the German power that was increasing in power and hoping to dictate the world. The two options of foreign policy that could change the course of history were appeasement and collective security. Appeasement was the option of, giving the aggressor Germany what they wanted in hope that it would lead to peace. The countries agreed on this policy when they established the Munich Agreement, which would give a portion of Czechoslovakia to Germany.
World War I was nicknamed “The war to end all wars.” As descendants of those who had participated in the war, it is evidently clear that that was not the case. From the beginning of the war to the end of World War II, there had been advancements between that time frame that caused an increase in casualties. With the technology and knowledge of the past, we are free from ignorance. In addition, we have the ability to address situations that potentially could have made the second battle inevitable.
World War I ended in 1918 with the victorious Allied powers, and the peace-promising Treaty of Versailles. However, this treaty 's peace did not last long as its unrealistic demands caused strong resentment within the Central powers against the Allied powers. Territorial losses, reparation payments, and inflation all left Europe in economic ruins. The damage and destruction that resulted from World War I paved a clear path that allowed for World War II to occur. It began in 1933 when Adolf Hitler gained power and, with the help of the Nazi Party, turned Germany in a totalitarian dictatorship.
They had a few valid reasons to do so. Even if they had many reasons to turn to imperializing, there were three reasons that stood out the most. One of the reasons was to improve the economy by using these newly achieved nations to their advantage. Another reason was the desire of improving their Army in order to compete with other nation's Army. The final reason was that they thought they were a superior culture and other nations had to be like them.
Imperialism in Japan Background: Japan prior to the Meiji restoration was ruled in a hierarchy very similar to other European countries. The hierarchy was that of lords, samurai and then peasants. The Japanese equivalent to a king at the time was a military dictator called a shogun. During this time the capital was Kyoto and the shogun was part of the Tokugawa clan. That is why this period is referred to as the Tokugawa Shogunate.
World War one could not have been prevented because it would happen eventually. It would have happened at some point because anything could start it like, how the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his was the major reason of why World War One started in 1914. What happened was how Austro-Hungarian blamed Serbia for the assassination of the archduke. Also, when Austro-Hungarian declared war on Serbia on July 28, 1914 because everyone had alliances with one another this small war quickly turned into a huge one. For example, Russia is allied with Serbia and Germany is allied with Austro-Hungarian so, Germany declared war on Russia and its ally, France.
Germany, Italy and others, including the United States wanted to expand their empires
Both The 14 Points that Wilson gave, and The Treaty of Versailles gave very good points about what needs to done. They both hit that “M.A.I.N” issues that were the causes of WWl. But The Treaty of Versailles gave a lot more understanding and definition that what Germany can, cannot, and need to do to make up for the war. This is why the treaty is a little better than The 14 Points.
And the country need to pay all the reparations. What virtually angered Germans was that they were forced to admit the completely responsibility for starting the World War I. They need to endure all the blame for the guilt. People in Germany were outraged. They did not believe that they should be treated inhumanely.
There were cultural and economic motives for imperialism. First economic, Many countries were industrialized in 1900s, and they needed a lot of materials that they did not have. In order not to depend on others, which nobody wanted, many strong countries started conquering territories and had the necessary materials. Also, followed by the industrialization, population grew as quickly as never before. New jobs were needed and people who were unemployed, left to other countries to find jobs.
As a comparison, in my opinion, World War I was more avoidable as the triggers and causes were not as sophisticated as the World War II. Conflict between In World War 1, the Central Powers (including Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Turkey) and the Allied Powers (France, Britain, Russia, Italy, Japan, and (from 1917, the U.S.) opposed each other. This is called the
World War I (WWI) and World War II (WWII) had many causes. They also had many devastating effects on the world. They both have one main similarity and difference for both the causes and effects of the wars. The main similarity in the causes of both wars was imperialism, but the main difference was that WWII had appeasement; the main similarity in the effects of both wars was that there were many political tensions leftover that caused another war, but the main difference was that after WWII, the United Nations (UN) was created.
Another cause of World War II was the Japan militarism and invasions in China in the 1930s. Additionally, another cause of World War II was that Great Depression left the world in a turmoil. The government was unstable, people were out of work, and trying to survive this terrible period in United States history. World War two had many causes as it was fought by the 2 Axis Powers (Germany, Italy, Japan), and the Allied Powers( Britain, United States, Soviet Union, France) , and considered the most traumatic war in human
