My interest in the Computer Science major at Carnegie Mellon was first piqued while I was in the Microsoft Student Partners Program, where I met a Technical Evangelist from Microsoft who graduated from the course. I had heard from him how the nation’s best graduates of Computer Science were often recruited from Carnegie Mellon. Naturally, this keen interest sparked off by my encounter with him did not just stop there as I am now sitting at my desk writing my CMU supplementary essays.

For the past year, I have been working on Quest, an Android Question and Answer mobile platform for tertiary students which include polytechnic, university ITE students, to ask and answer questions to students from other schools. I started working on this project because I wanted to build an Android Q&A mobile application to help tertiary students in Singapore connect to their peers nationwide. It was after 10 months of user interviews, coding and troubleshooting that I finally led my team to finish building Quest.
Quest has become the fundamental push behind my motivation to study Computer Science. I want to apply machine learning, to crunch petabytes of the data pool of questions and answers contributed on Quest to make it a more valuable platform for the education industry. My plan is to attend a four year university full time at University of Washington Bothell and major in computer science field because I am passionate about working with technology, and I want to understand how we can continue to draw knowledge from it. For an older student , this college could be the extent of their educational journey. However, for a younger student, this district is a transitional point rather than an end. Despite it 's stagnated nature, WCCCD has been a wonderful experience.

On February 9, 2016 President Barack Obama announced his Cybersecurity National Action plan (CNAP) to further the nations efforts to protect government agencies, citizens, and businesses from cyber threats domestic and abroad. However, cybersecurity is not a new issue in fact it is as old as the internet itself. With that said, I keep thinking back to that warm September day stained with the image of an enormous fireball engulfing our small TV set. This horrific day changed the course of history forever along with my future career path.
Technology has always been progressing thus it is rampant in our society today. We use technology; depend on technology in our daily life and our needs and demands for technology keep on rising (Ramey, 2012). Wherever you look, you will see people holding different kinds of technology like cell phone, laptop, tablets and etc. It appears to most of us that technology is a necessity to the point where we can no longer live without it. According to Gavin (2013), technology moves at a rapid pace, and can be hard to keep up with at times.
Because many new product introductions fail, the shake out stage may be short or relatively nonexistent for some products. However, for other products the shake out stage may be longer due to frequent product upgrades and enhancements that forestall movement into maturity5. The computer industry today is an example of an industry with a long shake out stage owing to upgrades in hardware, services, and add-on products and features. As the product gets more and more acceptance in the industry, more and more new entrants are likely to join the industry leading to aggressive competition. Finally, it is the survival of the fittest.
