"Some pets come into our lives, leave pawprints on our hearts, And we are never the same." Have you ever felt this way? This means no Matter what your pet will always have an impact in your live Good or bad. I agree with this quote because every pet has Impacts in people's lives. The impact could be good or bad but Either way they will have an impact in someone's life. It is good to have A pet that impacts your life, it shows what they think of you. John Steinbeck changed by traveling with charley. One of the first evidence Is, on chunk 4 it says " He leaped all over me, he cursed and growled, snarled and screamed. I didn't know he had the ability to snarl." (Steinbeck, chunk 4). This means he didn't know his dog could do this, but his dog did it for him, and now he knows his dog will stand up for him. Another evidence is " Less than a mile from the entrance I saw a bear beside the road, and it ambled out as though to flag me down. Instantly a change came over Charley." (Steinbeck Chunk 3). This means that this isn't the Charley that John knows. Finally, he said "Where did he learn it?". This means that John doesn't know that Charley could do this. These are all the evidence and the reasons behind John Steinbeck has changed because he now knows that his dog …show more content…
When she wakes up to go to school, she feeds and gives her puppy water every day. I think that what she is doing is making the puppy love her even more because of all the love that she gives him. Also, when she goes to her sisters’ games she always brings the puppy and walks him and plays with him. This is good because she is always spending time with her puppy and gives the dog and her exercise. The cool thing about it is that she is the one that saved up to buy the puppy. All of these things made her responsible before she used to just sit on the couch, but now she is up and moving with her puppy. And it's nice to see her
John Steinbeck could be comparing lennie to a dog because they both were shot.
For example, Candy and his dog went to the bunkhouse and Carlson told Candy to shoot his dog, but Candy replied with, “I’ve been around him so much I never noticed how he stinks… No, I couldn’t do that. I had him too long” (Steinbeck 44-45). This shows that Candy has been with his dog for a long time and would do anything for him. This is important because later on, he agreed with Carlson to shoot his dog, because his dog was old and suffering, and he did not want his dog to be in any more pain.
Steinbeck’s introduction of Lennie infers he has animalistic characteristics that he’s ‘a huge man, shapeless of face, with large, pale eyes, with wide, sloping shoulders: and he walked heavily, dragging his feet a little, the way a bear drags his paws.’ Steinbeck’s vocabulary in this phrase teaches us a lot about Lennie, for example we can understand he is a physically big person from the adjectives like ‘huge’, ‘large’, and ‘wide’. Also describing his eyes as ‘pale’ could be indicative of the knowledge behind them, or more accurately the lack thereof. It suggests that in reality he has a tendency to be absent-minded. Within this description of Lennie, we come across the first piece of animal imagery, where Steinbeck presents Lennie as a bear who ‘drags his paws’.
Being sheltered since birth from evil and poverty she is loving and caring for all those around her no matter where they live or what they look like because she sees the good in all people around
“And he walked heavily, dragging his feet a little, the way a bear drags his paws,” (Steinbeck 2) “Lennie covered his face with huge Paws and bleated with Terror,” (Steinbeck 63) “He pawed up the heading to apartment covered her.” (Steinbeck 92) “‘They’ll take ya to the booby hatch. They’ll tie ya up with a collar, like a dog.” (Steinbeck 72).
I would like to take a moment to talk about the two most important and influential people in my life my parents Sabrina and Darren Hardnick. As I sat them down to talk to them about their past and their future I actually learned a lot more about them. It’s true when they say “you learn something new everyday”. Let’s start off with my mother Sabrina Hardnick, well let’s start when she was Sabrina McIntosh. February 14,1975 at Kaiser Hospital (no longer open) in Cleveland, Ohio Sabrina Lattice McIntosh was born.
"You seen what they done to my dog tonight? They says he wasn 't no good to himself nor nobody else. When they can me here I wisht somebody 'd shoot me..." - ( Steinbeck, 60. ) Candy, and his dog.
John Steinbeck the author of “Of Mice and Men” often uses animal imagery when discussing or describing Lennie. He describes him very specific and discusses all his actions similar to an animals. I think that Steinbeck really put thought in all of Lennie’s actions and descriptions so that the reader can really see the comparison between Lennie and an animal. Steinbeck uses this animal imagery when describing Lennie quite often to show how he is helpless, acts like an animal , and is innocent and defenseless just like the mice and the rabbits that Lennie really found a strong connection with. Steinbeck uses animal imagery to show how Lennie is helpless.
Archetypes are a manifestation of how our minds envision the roles of characters, these characters come in the form of the hero, villain, temptress, damsel, monster, and mentor. In the book Of Mice and Men, by John Steinbeck, we follow the story of two men who struggle to pull through to survive horrible times, on their journey they come across other characters that fulfill the roles of the archetypes. The archetype in discussion is the villain archetype which is the evildoer of a story usually a person who commits a crime against society or against a couple of people. One character in particular that fills the archetype of the villain is Curley, he has an aura of evil that resonates from his attitude and his actions, which triggers people
”I shouldn’t oughtta let no stranger shoot my dog.” It was Candy’s dog like lennie is george's friend. These events show how Steinbeck uses foreshadowing to the event of Lennie’s death in the book Of Mice And
For once Buck learns to adjust, “his development was rapid. ” Experience is his teacher, like, Sister Carrie’s or Stephen Crane’s Maggie. But his morality was not questioned by the reader because Buck is a dog. London chooses to ignore the moral implications of Buck’s thievery. For Buck’s “new” way of life was new to him only momentarily, London closes out Buck’s discourse on the law of club and fang.
“Buck is a strong husky. ”,said Judge Miller. Next day, Judge Miller was late to his job at Santa Clara Courthouse, his tears were dripping from his eyes. He missed Buck very much, and he witted that the lost dog posters were everywhere in the courthouse and on the buildings, which is his first plan to do. He never have this experiment and a nightmare that Buck is gone.
When anyone says the word ‘relationship’ the first thing that pops into everyone’s head is boyfriend, girlfriend or marriage, but there are many different kinds and forms of relationships. For example, relationships can be with friends, teachers, coworkers, ect., and there are different forms of relationships aswell like, mutualism, which is a relationship where all the organsims benefit, or parasitism, which is a relationship where one partner benefits and the other is harmed. In the short novella Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck and in the novel Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom the reader sees the common theme of relationships, whether they be good or bad. In the short novella Of Mice and Men Steinbeck shows many positive relationships, an example of a positive relationship would be the two main characters George and Lennie.
pup, George? I ain’t got no pup.” “George went quickly to him, grabbed him by the shoulder and rolled him over. He reached down and picked the tiny puppy from where Lennie had been concealing it against his stomach.” 88 John Steinbeck.
From this you can see that the man and dog share many different and similar thoughts on their journey through the Yukon Trail. The man and dog think differently in some situations like when the man or chechaquo(New comer) was trying to kill the dog. The man and dog also think similarly in other situations like, they both have the same idea of survival. For example, the man and dog both think the same about the fire. Therefore, the man and dog have different and similar thoughts while strugglings to get to the other side of camp were the boys
