Shakespeare’s Macbeth is an eventful play that is incorporated with witchcraft. In the time of the Scottish Play, real black magic and paranormal witchcraft was said to be existent. Rumor has it that the play has a curse placed on it from real witches from Shakespeare’s time.

Both greed and power, if not controlled, can lead to destruction. Throughout William Shakespeare’s play Macbeth, Shakespeare uses both characters Macbeth and Lady Macbeth to demonstrate how ambition can change one’s personal relationships. As in the beginning of Act 1, Scene 7 Macbeth and Lady Macbeth do not share the same ambition, and it is because of this that their relationship lacks love and affection however through the use of persuasion and other means, Lady Macbeth is able to get Macbeth to pursue her ambition. This not only changes their relationship drastically but it also changes Macbeth’s attitude towards ambition. Throughout the play, Shakespeare shows us through Macbeth, the possibility for ambition to eventually turn into greed and how the lust for power may corrupt us.

Making a movie from direct content that is more than a hundred years old is easy because all the scenes and script is there for your use. Some directors like to make some drastic or minor changes based on their own interpretation of the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare. While watching both Goold (2010) and Polanski (1971), I have noticed a lot of major differences between the two movies and the original play Macbeth written by William Shakespeare. Some of the differences I have noticed is that is in Goold (2010), Macbeth actually comes to kill Lady Macduff and her children. Another difference in Goold (2010) is that the witches are shown throughout the film.

This written task is based upon the play Macbeth. Though readers identify the titular character of Willian Shakespeare’s Macbeth, another character stands out as a much greater protagonist. While Macbeth is driven towards madness and into committing atrocities as to fulfill his ambitions to the throne, Macduff lacks such a flaw and endures an uncorrupted and loyal behavior throughout the play. As Macbeth strives to gain power and accomplishes his purposes at the expense of King Duncan’s life, Macduff meanwhile endures great personal loss in his attempts to cease Macbeth’s despotic behavior and restore justice and freedom to Scotland.

Blind Ambition and Greed The play “Macbeth”, by William Shakespeare illustrates many themes through the characters from the beginning to the end of the story. But the main central theme introduced is Ambition and Greed. As the play goes on we read how Macbeth permits his Ambition and Greed to dictate the outcomes and tragedy’s that occur to himself and others.

Macbeth, one of William Shakespeare’s most famous plays, is a tragedy about one man rising to the top to subsequently fall. The Lion King is an animated Disney movie about a lion cub learning about life while on the run following his father’s death. The Lion King and Macbeth compare to certain multitudes, as well as contrast to a certain degree. Similarities and differences between the movie and play are shown between Duncan and Mufasa, Malcolm and Simba, Macbeth and Scar, the three witches and Rafiki, and the theme of appearance versus reality. What seemed like a fearless soldier soon would have his life turned around by his own innocent ambition that furthermore evolved into blinding greed, need for power, and selfishness. This soldier was Macbeth, he didn 't realize the toll this had on his mental health and others. Macbeth had many distinct layers to him that he personally didn 't know he acquired over the course of time. This is what you 'd call a complex character, one who can 't be cognized yet till you fully get to know their mindset and thoughts. Traditionally this would be a great way to describe Macbeth, throughout this book readers slowly started to comprehend his intentions and actions .

Greed for power leads corrupt leaders to pursue power through ruthless and violent ways, putting their countries in an unstable state. Macbeth commits murders and violent acts to earn his absolute power, but his corrupt mindset of yearning power leads to instability in the Scotland. After hearing from the witches, Macbeth admits that, “My thought, whose murder yet is but fantastical/ Shakes so my single state of man/ That function is smother'd in surmise /and nothing is but what is not.”

Whereas in the text of Macbeth, the setting is first presented as evil, stated by Macbeth “no foul and fair a day I have not seen“. The tragic hero demonstrates how a character in a pla, or a movie starts out with good qualities and everyone like them. Towards the end they have a tragic death. In the play Macbeth this is shown. The main character Macbeth starts out a good leader and a Scottish general, when you get further in the story he starts to show the other stages of the tragic hero.

In this essay I will be comparing two female characters from different texts and different time periods. We will be looking in depth at Lady Macbeth from Shakespeare 's play 'Macbeth ', and Sheila from J.B. Priestley 's 'An Inspector Calls '. We will be looking at their roles in their respective plays, and how their characters develop over time. It is clear that both ladies are in strong relationships, but how they act within these relationships is vastly different.
