If they didn’t have the building in the way she could have lived longer while if they did she would have died sooner.

Lord of the Flies and The Hunger Games prove that working together and looking out for each other will give you a greater shot at victory. One very significant similarity is that in both books the characters are trapped on an island and fighting for their safety and survival. In Lord of the Flies, school boys, Ralph, Roger, Simeon, Piggy, Jack and along with other kids are trapped on an island and have to fight for survival, but, after a while of being on the island the civilization starts to die and so do the boys from violence and lack of communication.

Marigolds by Eugenia W. Collier and To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee are very similar in their settings and moods. For example, in Marigolds the narrator indicates that all she can remember from her hometown is dust and poverty, which shows this was during the Great Depression. This is similar to, To Kill a Mockingbird, because it also takes place during the Great Depression, this displays they have similar settings. Another example is, the mood in Marigolds is very depressing, you get this mood because the narrator says things like, “I suppose the futile waiting was the sorrowful background music of our impoverished little community.” The mood is like this in To Kill a Mockingbird as well.

There are many movies and books that have tons of similarities and differences. I choosed A Series of Unfortunate Events, because of the nail biting moments that are in the book and movie. Plus,and you just want to know what happened. They both have many differences, but not many similarities. Some of the differences are very big changes and might make you like the other one more.

Stephen King, a famous writer once said, “Books and movies are like apples and oranges. They are both fruit, but they taste completely different.” Truly, this applies to all movies and books. This quote is effective describing the novel and the movie, A Raisin in the Sun. Although the two share similar scenes and acts, the movie shows a lot more details which make it better.

Johnny from The Outsiders hates his parents and struggles with life and the idea of suicide is constantly dancing around at the back of his head. In a similar way bryan from The Breakfast Club experiences suicidal thoughts, due to the pressure of his parents and the ability to keep up with life.

Society is an ever evolving element of life, and as society has changed over the years, so has works by authors and directors. As authors and directors gain influence from inspiring sources, they are also gaining influences from the surrounding culture and the time period that they are living in. This may even be subconsciously. New historicism is the theory that explains this and specifically focuses on just how the time period of a work changes and shows how an author's experiences come to life through a work. In Walt Disney’s, Cinderella, the time period glamorizes Cinderella’s journey to happiness while the Grimm Brothers version connects more with reality, teaching that media evolves to what society wants to see.

The musical also gives the audience more to think about with its different viewpoint of “The Wicked Witch” and how she isn’t so wicked which can be taken into the context of our everyday lives with the people around us. In conclusion, The Wizard of Oz and Wicked are both very well known broadway musicals. The Wizard of Oz and Wicked each have their own story, but have the same underlying concept of the fantasy world of Oz and the tale of the Wicked Witches who live in it. There are many similarities and comparisons throughout these musicals many characteristics such as characters, theme, and plot which make these two broadway musicals so

The Wizard of Oz has revealed to be an exceptionally well thought out film when analysed.
