Just over ten years ago, Cloverfield was released to the public. The movie starts off as a group friends prepare for a going away party. During the party, New York City begins to start having mysterious earthquakes and power outages. The entire movie follows the group of friends as they try to get to their friend stuck in her apartment building, and then getting out of the city while trying to avoid whatever is terrorising the city. 10 years later, The Cloverfield Paradox was released. This movie is meant to be the prequel to Cloverfield and sets up how the entire incident in New York happened. Within the movie we see that a group of scientists from around the world board a spacecraft and head to space. There, they try and figure out how create a sufficient unlimited power source to save the Earth from power depletion. In order to create this power source, the scientists fire up this machine that accidentally create this portals to other dimensions, and as a result, the monster in Cloverfield is able to transport onto the Earth and wreak havoc on New York City. Although these movies are connected in their storyline, they also have many differences. These differences can be spotted by the way the movie is shot, the actors, and the conflict. Both movies were produced by J.J. Abrams. Abrams has also produced movies like the newest Star Wars trilogy and the new Star Trek trilogy. In the first installment of the Cloverfield series, Abrams takes a different camera angle than
Through the story the memories and feelings of each girl are uncovered, giving the viewers a glimpse of the ethics, esthetics and eroticism of these teenagers. The movie was heavily promoted as a Thriller in trailers, posters and other media due to its dark and twisted sense of humor, but some critics have claimed to find it somehow misleading, since it also fits in the drama category due to its storyline. The film premiered in theaters in Mexico City on March 4, 2011.
That fear we harbor can grow into a seething hate for those mysterious things that we cannot conquer, because we are too afraid of what may happen. In the end, the people of Pleasantville moved past that fear of things alien, even though it was thrust upon them it turned out to be for the better. The movie Pleasantville is the story of twins, David (played by Maguire) and Jennifer (played by Witherspoon), that live polar opposites lives socially during high school in the 90's. David being the socially awkward brother and Jennifer being the popular, yet sexually promiscous girl.
About a month ago I rented the movie 10 Cloverfield Lane from red box. This movie had quite a bit of abnormal behavior. One of the main characters Howard, seem to be suffering from some type of mental disorder. It seemed that he had abducted a young girl. He locked her up and would not let her leave.
Field of Dreams is just that, a field that fulfills the dreams of the owner. Field of Dreams, directed by Phil Alden Robinson, is about a farmer from Iowa, Ray, who is out in his field of corn one night and hears a whispering voice call out to him. No one in his family is able to hear the voice, but him. At first he believes he is going crazy until he hears it repeatedly and signs were given to him on the task that needed to be completed. Ray, with the support of his family, decided to do exactly what the voice says, bringing him on an adventure.
This film is about a man named Bryan, played by Tyler Perry himself, who's daughter is very mischievous. She does not obey her father at all because she feels like he is a push over, and she feels like since he is a push over he should not tell her what to do. His daughter, Tiffany, is just turning 18 and its the day before Halloween and she wants to go to a college Halloween party. Her dad tells her no she cannot go, but her misleading and irresponsible mother, lets her go without any care in the world about her safety. Long story short, the place where the party was held at was a murder investigation site that happened years ago, so it is advertised as being haunted.
It does have similarity to Faults, in some ways, because you don’t know who’s telling the truth or who to believe. There’s a lot of, who’s manipulating who, and all of that. Tonally, it’s very different, but it has some of those same themes.” 10 Cloverfield Lane may be taking place years after the incident in the first Cloverfield film, but that has yet to be confirmed. As far as a timeline for this film and when exactly it’s taking place, that information is being kept under wraps.

There is no denying that the film, Aftershock, directed by Feng Xiaogang is the most bankable domestic blockbusters in mainland China and wins the box office of more than six hundred million in 2010 (Coonan, 2010). It reproduces the grave earthquake took place in Tangshan, Hebei Province on July 28, 1976. Such a 7.8 magnitude earthquake turned Tangshan into ruins in only twenty-three seconds and caused 250 thousands death. The successful release of the film has caused the high attention and intense discussion among the community until nowadays. As an excellent work of contemporary Chinese realism film, it moves audiences through its setting, expression, characters and also the touching plot.

Whiplash is an inspiring movie, from one side, Andrew wants to fulfill a lifetime fantasy, and the desire to become the best drummer there is. On the other side, Andrew is willing to risk it all, to bear everything and anything in order to achieve that dream. To accomplish it, he applies to one of the best music schools and is admitted into it, he is now part of one of the most prestigious schools of music there is, Shaffer Conservatory of Music School. He practices every day to achieve perfection and while practicing, Andrew receives a visit from one of the “best teachers” at school, due to his conscious practice he is invited to join Mr. Fletcher’s orchestra. And it is in Mr. Fletcher’s classroom where Andrew starts his journey to a path, I think, he would not expect to follow, at least not in his dreams of becoming the best drummer player.
The life course perspective of linked or independent lives emphasizes the principle that people are reciprocally connected on several levels. In this perspective it calls attention to how relationships both support and control an individual’s behavior (Hutchinson, 2010). In the movie The Help, I took great notice of the life course perspective, Linked lives, being exemplified between Ms. Celia Foote and Ms. Minny. They provided social and emotional support throughout the movie that benefited the both of them greatly. Prior to Ms. Minny becoming the maid for Ms. Celia, a housewife, she had no idea who would hire her again due to her getting fired by Ms. Hilly, for using a toilet that was not assigned for her to use.
Boyhood embodies coming of age where the director Richard Linklater with Mason Junior, Olivia (Mason’s mother), Mason senior (Mason’s father and Olivia’s ex-husband), Samantha (Mason’s sister) builds an emotional saga which enumerates individual emotions and relationships. Linklater made film history by shooting the motion picture for 4-5 days (consistently) for the traverse of 12 years just to draw out the progression of time. Boyhood is an intimate movie which covers relationships between children and parents, adolescence, and child psychology, and further exemplifies the development of a six year old boy to an eighteen year old man, where the characters go through a series of emotional and physical changes, Mason’s voice drops, he grows taller, his parents grow older, you can feel the adolescence oozing out of the two
It was the story of a horrible divorce between the Roses. It was a brilliant movie- Danny DeVito is a brilliant Director and Actor. Michael and Kathleen, of course, speak for themselves. That movie was previewed ten times before it opened.
Alien was one of the first movies I could remember as a kid that genuinely scared me. A monster on a ship with acid for blood? Nope. A facehugger that rapes your face and implants and alien in your chest only to burst out killing you? Hell no.
