In Hamlet's soliloquy in act 1 scene 2 of Hamlet by Shakespeare, the central idea is that life is not fair. This is first shown as the central idea when Hamlet says that he wants to commit suicide, but it is against his religion (lines 129-132). To him, life seems unfair because when he wants to do something, he is not allowed to. The central idea is further shown when Hamlet says that his father loved his mother so much "that he might not [allow] the winds of heaven [to] / visit her face too roughly" (lines 141-142), and his mother "would hand on him as if [an] increase of appetite had grown / by what it fed on" (lines 143-145), and his father dies (lines 148). Steve Jobs, in his speech , ¨You've got to find what you love¨, implies that we have a limited time to live, so don't waste it living in dogma. He supports his claim by telling four stories of his experiences. The first story being about connecting the dots in (his) life. Then in the second story, he speaks about love and loss of his passion. In the third story he brings up death, and how it kept him motivated to do what he loves.
Hamlet feels as if everything is against him no matter what he chooses to do. This goes even more into it by the metaphor “sea of troubles” which compares his problems with the sea and its power. Hamlet's problems are even more revealed by “thousand natural shocks that flesh on heir to”. This is referring to his mother's shocking marriage with Claudius that upset Hamlet, but also the effects of being hurt and aging. Hamlet calls life a “mortal coil” and “calamity”.
“The most important thing in communication is hearing what isn't being said. The art of reading between the lines is a life long quest of the wise,” explains the American author Shannon L. Alder. This statement illustrates that the better one is at perceiving people or situations without just the facts, one will be more wiser and receive rewards for their ability to perceive. Perception means to use one’s senses to understand certain people or situations without being told by becoming aware of hidden meanings. The way that people interpret either people or situations will ultimately affect their way of life, therefore, having knowledge of something that is not directly expressed will make one’s life much easier.
When applied correctly, soliloquies successfully allow the reader to experience characters in their most vulnerable state: within their own minds. Hamlet is no exception to this principle, as Shakespeare’s mastery of rhetoric in establishing the main character’s inner conflict provides depth and rawness to his complex character. In this well-known soliloquy, Shakespeare employs logos to acknowledge that death can be both a relief and nightmare due to natural human emotions; accordingly, Hamlet personifies a severe case of teenage depression by simultaneously wishing for an end to suffering yet remaining hesitant to act on his own thoughts due to his fear of the unknown. Throughout this passage, Hamlet attempts to rationalize ending his life over continuing to endure the painful reality of his existence. The parallelism in this particular soliloquy serves several rhetorical purposes, including the development of an implicit contrast between Hamlet’s mental state and the actual organization of his thoughts.
In Act 2, Scene 2, a theatrical troupe arrives at the castle to perform a speech from Aeneid. Impressed with the player’s performance, Hamlet asks that the player act out a short speech he has written for the next day. Once alone, Hamlet undergoes an introspection that sheds light to his cowardly disposition. The soliloquy is divided into three sections: problem, cause, and resolution. Through his initial self-condemnation for being passive, Hamlet realizes the essence of his internal struggle and devises a plan to take action without having to go against his true nature.
Hamlet pushing away others causes his descent into madness. As he slowly loses his sanity, the idea of death looks more and more appealing. Shakespeare shows this idea through Hamlet’s soliloquy: “To be, or not to be: that is the question” (Shakespeare, line 57). The fact that Shakespeare used a soliloquy in this scene shows how much Hamlet’s solitude has affected how he views his life. His thoughts of suicide race as he finds himself alone, separating himself from the betrayal in his family.
Hamlet's soliloquy is about why death is a better alternative to living while roger ebert believes that life should be worth living. For example, Hamlet believes that death will be a better place than life would be. However, Roger Ebert believes that life should be lived even when everything will become difficult. I personally agree with Roger Ebert’s claim that people should try to enjoy their life no matter what happens. Hamlet says that life shouldn’t be worth all the hardships and death may be better than having to suffer.
Hamlet is a complex and nuanced character who struggles with existential questions and grapples with the nature of humanity. This is evident in the famous soliloquy "To be or not to be" (Act 3, Scene 1), in which Hamlet meditates on the pain and suffering of life and the possibility of

The Act II soliloquy best reflects Hamlet's actual level of grief. At the beginning of Act I, Hamlet still does not know the cause of his father's demise. There, he grieves after his father's death. Of course, he is resentful towards Gertude, but only because she married his uncle so soon. However, at the end of Act II, Hamlet knows everything and still fails to act.
The illusion of death has wondered and astonished many for years. This doesn 't exclude the fantastic author Shakespeare. Throughout the play, Shakespeare focuses on death and how society glorifies it. He often uses metaphor and analogy in order to make death seem more welcoming. Turmoil and confusion can internally destroy any country.

Hamlet, written by famous playwright and poet, William Shakespeare, is frequently referred to as the “Mona Lisa” of literature. The true purpose and complete understanding of the play is, up to this day, not remotely knowledgeable by scholars and the audience alike. The play has led to much conversation about what Shakespeare was ultimately trying to accomplish with it. One vexed and widely referred critique was that made by T.S. Eliot, in which he described, “The ‘madness’ of Hamlet lay to Shakespeare’s hand…a deliberate dissimulation, but a form of emotional relief” (Eliot 93). In creating Hamlet, Shakespeare achieved perplexity in the scheme that created for misinterpretation of an unexplained Hamlet.
Throughout the play Hamlet, it is discovered that Hamlet goes through many ordeals in such a short period of time and these ordeals altered his perspective on life. In the play, we learn what Hamlet’s perspective is, how his perspective is formed, and how it affects the meaning of the play. To begin with, through Hamlet soliloquies, we learn what Hamlet’s perspective on life is. At the beginning of the play, it is revealed that Hamlet believes life is worthless. This is evident in his “to be or not to be” soliloquy.
In the Act 4: Scene 4 soliloquy, “How all occasions do inform against me…” (4.4.35), Hamlet was so raged after he discovered his father’s death was not an accident but his uncle, Claudius committed the murder. He promised to avenge his father’s death at all means. Instead, he wrestles with morality, rationality, and cowardliness, ‘’Thus conscience does make cowards of us all, . … And lose the name of action.” (Act III, scene 1, 84-89), Hamlet was still unresolved to carry out the action until he met the captain who with his armies were preparing for war over a very small piece of land (Act IV, scene 4: 10-30).
