In acquitting Anthony, the jury made the right call. The Casey Anthony trial offered little to no evidence pointing to Casey Anthony. It provided neither justice nor clarity. For 33 days, defense and prosecutors attorneys battled over evidence in the trial. Casey Anthony stood accused of murdering her two-year-old daughter Caylee in 2008. But while Caylee’s remains were found near the Anthony home, there was no DNA match, no confession, no murder weapon and no cause of death. The Casey Anthony trial over forensic evidence came to an end on July 5th, 2011. After hearing the state’s case, the defense, and analyzing the evidence provided, it was concluded that there was not enough substantial evidence to convict Casey Anthony of 2nd degree murder or

Casey Anthony age thirty-one is found not guilty for killing her two year old daughter. Casey Anthony should have been found guilty because of these three reasons: Anthony’s mother Cindy was the one to call the cops when Caylee went missing instead of Casey, the cops found chloroform on Caylee’s body and in her trunk, and it is known that Casey didn’t want her daughter to begin with. There is enough substantial evidence to prove that Casey Anthony is guilty for the murder of her daughter. Caylee Anthony was born on August 9, 2005 and reported missing on July 15, 2008. USA TODAY published an article “Casey Anthony breaks her silence: I sleep pretty good at night.” Anthony did an interview with Associated Press speaking about the case and her daughter’s death for the first time. The Associated Press said that the interview with Anthony was “revealing, bizarre and often contradictory, and ultimately raised more question than answers about the case.” In the interview with Associated Press, Anthony admitted to lying to the police about a number of things such as her employment, leaving her child with a babysitter, and receiving a call from Caylee before she went missing. During the trial, the defense stated that Caylee had drown in the pool and then Casey Anthony’s father tried to cover up the accident.

The police released video footage on February 15, 2017 from one of the girl’s phones.

Americans became fascinated by Casey Anthony when she became a household name following the disappearance of her daughter. After being raised in Ohio, Anthony was later charged with the murder of her daughter Caylee following their move to Florida. Anthony’s trial quickly became public, and shocked the nation after she was acquitted of all murder charges. The majority of America assumed Anthony was guilty, but without substantial evidence, the jury lacked the confirmation they needed to lock her up for good. Have you ever wondered if a murder case has the same outcome as every other murder case? The answer to that question is no. The reason for this is because each case has different outcomes depending on certain topics throughout the trial. These topics include the trial setup, the evidence presented, the society attitude, and the important events that took place while the case was occurring. After comparing two different murder cases, the West Memphis Three trial and Casey Anthony trial, one can learn that the influences happening throughout the society and how well the evidence is presented will help predict the outcome of the case.
Since the very beginning Casey has not been thrilled of her pregnancy, and with “ Caylee now dead, this has allowed Casey to live a good life, at least for those first 31 days” (Florida V. Casey). Through out the trial this mother was only thinking about herself, according to Attorney Linda Drone from CNN ” No one else benefited from the death of Caylee Marie Anthony”. The jury verdict was upsetting to society because of the mother not being charged with the murder or disappearance of Caylee. The Jury like what was said before only could make a decision on what was being given. There was little to no evidence that was brought to court that was investigated thoroughly to build a case or to charge her with it.
The prosecution did not prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt; thus, justice was not served for the real victim, Caylee. Although Casey Anthony won in a court of law, she lost in the court of public opinion; thus, being punished by society just as OJ was.
