One criminal case that I found very intriguing was the Casey Anthony case. For those that do not about this case it involved Casey Anthony and her daughter Caylee Marie Anthony and it was about the death of Casey’s two year old daughter. This whole case was something never seen before. It was crazy how it started out and how it ended. This case is one that to this day won't ever be forgotten especially the whole outcome of it. With all that being said let us take a deeper look at the case and see if the evidence used was enough to get a conviction. It all started on June 16, 2008. Casey had her daughter Caylee with her parents and was saying goodbye to them. She was leaving on work business and was taking her daughter along with her. That was …show more content…
Her defense stated that her kid drowned, her father knew and was covering it up, and that her father had been touching her since she was a child. Casey was all over the place and it was clear as day that she responsible for the death of her child. With all the evidence the prosecution had to go off they in my mind didn’t have enough evidence to support their claims. In this case the police report wasn’t bad or not well written it was just that Casey’s telling to the police were lies. Each side present their cases and evidence and in the end it came to the jury to make the final decision. After hours of deliberation the jury found Casey innocent on all counts of her daughter's disappearance. She was found innocent on July 5, 2011. Three years after her daughter Caylee was found dead. This was so unexpected because the whole world knew she was guilty and so did her parents. They didn’t want to believe it but the now it was her in the end. Her parents don’t even talk to her anymore. To this day she lives her life like nothing ever happened. She went to do an interview and said she sleeps well every night. Who in their right mind would say that having lost their baby their whole world. I would be a broken sole just wandering the earth till it was my time to go. That’s how her father felt. He actually tried to commit suicide because he could not bare the allegations his daughter made
Cindy was the one who made the 911 call on July 19th reporting that Caylee had been missing for a month(Liston, Barbara). She also reported that Casey’s car smelled like a dead body and that Casey had given multiple reasons for where Caylee was before she admitted that it had been weeks since she last saw Caylee. Lying would prove to be a common trend with Casey Anthony. Casey was obviously the primary suspect, and in October she was charged with first
When asking her daughter, Casey, where Caylee was she made many different excuses before finally admitting that she had not seen Caylee in weeks. Police suspected that Casey was responsible for the death of Caylee and after an investigation, Casey was charged
Although some people believe that George Anthony, Casey’s father, was involved with the death of Caylee Anthony, the most plausible cause would be Casey murdering her child. To initiate, Keith Ablow is an author who has done extensive research and wrote a book on the Casey Anthony case, states in his book multiple ways Caylee Anthony could’ve died from. He expresses that Casey would have murdered her daughter in order to avoid “her mothers threat” to kick her out of the house and gain custody of Caylee. Casey Anthony has a very selfish and childish attitude towards many things, she has not much of her own and is very reliant on her parents. If they were to cut her off and take her child she would have nothing to her name.
“If that happened to my daughter I’d hang flyers everywhere hoping someone saw something.” Casey lied to official officers and later when confronted own her misdemeanors claimed that she was looking for her daughter the whole time, lie, and was too frightened to tell the police that she hadn’t seen her daughter for about a month, also lies. It was later found that the entire time her daughter was M.I.A. Casey - the supposedly “frightened mother” - was out partying and getting wasted off her ass. I don’t know about you but that doesn’t exactly seem like a worried mother to me, granted forensics could never find any directly linking evidence own Casey Anthony, no fingerprints were found own the duct-tape, no hair, no shoe prints, no DNA of any
If Caylee was with the “nanny,” why did Casey not check up on the nanny every couple of hours wondering how her daughter is doing? Is Casey Anthony still really innocent with all this evidence thrown at
Casey Anthony “Smell of Death” In the summer of 2008, Casey Anthony daughter Caylee Anthony was last seen on June 16, 2008. No one knows where she was nor did Casey report that her daughter was missing. Time went by with no sign of Caylee reappearing. Casey’s mother called and reported that her granddaughter was missing and that Casey’s car smelled like a dead body had been in there.
Caylee was a sweet innocent little girl who probably was scared and terrified. And, many of you may assume that Casey could have been terrified and was actually innocent. But, she wasn’t, nothing about Casey was innocent.
Casey Anthony was found not guilty for murdering her daughter Caylee Anthony. Caylee Anthony was only two years old when she unfortunately passed away. Caylee was reported missing on July 15, 2008 but on December 11, 2008 her remains were found in a trash bag. On July 7, 2011 Casey Anthony was found not guilty in 3 counts including first degree murder but was found guilty of 4 counts because she provided false information to law enforcement. We all remember the O.J Simpson murder case as the most publicized criminal trial in American History.
On October 14, 2008, a grand jury indicted Casey Anthony on charges of first degree murder, child abuse and aggravated manslaughter of a child, as well as four counts of providing false information to police. She was later arrested. The Judge, John Jordan ordered that she be held without bond. The charges of child neglect were dropped against Casey, and on October 28, Anthony was arraigned and pled not guilty to all charges. Prosecutors announced that they planned to seek the death penalty in
The investigators didn’t even look into the other evidence and based the case off of traumatized 4-year-olds. They didn’t even look into Jonathan McCarty who had a previous criminal history. The prosecutors had no physical evidence against Greg Kelley. After 12 hours of debate the jury decided that Kelley was guilty of 2 accounts of aggravated sexual assault to a child. He got 25 years without the possibility of parole.
It blew my mind how she didn’t do anything after getting hit so hard by her husband. I feel like she needed to leave the house and look for help because no women would still be with their man if this happened to them. It’s crazy how she still put up with him. He’s a horrible man, he doesn't show her love instead he treats her like garbage. No women don’t deserve guys like this, she seems afraid to leave him because she isn’t aware of her actions.
Out of the 337 cases where innocent men and women were wrongfully imprisoned nearly half of the true suspects were identified and convicted. The racial heritage of those who have been exonerated is fairly diverse, consisting of “206 African Americans, 104 Caucasians, 25 Latinos, and 2 Asian Americans” (The Innocence Project). (Transition) Although The Innocence Project has changed the lives of many who others would not afford them the opportunity to prove their innocence, they would not have been able to do so without the recent
They say that Casey swore Caylee was alive and wanted help finding her, but it came out the Casey knew that Caylee was dead. Also, Casey can never walk in public without meeting the face of her haters and people who may want to get revenge for the death of Caylee. Everyone should keep in mind that Casey may have been acquitted by the courts, but she will never truly be
In this case the only obstacle the prosecutors had was prove that Caylee Anthony was murdered by her own mother, they had to prove beyond reasonable doubt to the jury that she was behind her daughter’s death. Most of the evidence that was presented was in fact pointed to Casey Anthony as the person who was fully liable for her daughter
The characters around her did not attempt to help her out, causing her to commit suicide. Similar to a child, a child talks
