Three million students per month are absent from school due to bullying. Twenty percent of teens cyberbullied think about suicide, and one in ten attempts it. 4,500 teens commit suicide each year. Anonymous internet users, can come in many different forms like hateful bullies or people causing a little trouble. Also making different accounts and changing passwords can make people harder to catch. In addition, when people are exposed to anonymous bullying they are found more lost and more depressed. Recent studies show that eighty three percent of teens getting cyberbullied don 't know how to get help from adults because they are getting bullied anonymously. On top of this cyber bullies can seem much more intimidating because children don 't know who is bullying them and victims feel like they don 't have a way of figuring it out. The Harsher Consequences of Face to Face Bullying Meet Rochelle, a previous student who told her best friend something very personal. Her best friend told everyone and kids from her school started bullying her. They would call her names and it came to the point where she stopped going to school, stopped eating, had to go to the hospital because she purposely cracked her head open on the sidewalk, and tried to hang herself. (“Stories from People Just Like You”, 22) Just like Rochelle, children all over the world get bullied face to face and never say anything about it. Bullying Can Be Prevented Bullying is a form of violence to pick on victims because they are different from their bullies, have insecurity/jealousy or home problems. The hate towards their victim has something to do with the victim having an unusual gift or being intelligent the bullies has yet to become. It is important that this behavior should be prevented or it will become worse. Bullying is one of the main issues public and private schools have to face on a day-to-day basis. When the bully takes it too far, the victim snaps and retaliates by fighting him/her back physically or verbally.
