The jobless rate in Brazil rose to 7.9 percent in October of 2015 from 7.6 percent in the previous two months, reaching the highest since August of 2009. Unemployment increased, employment fell and the labour force touched the lowest in nearly 13 years. (Trading Economics, 2015)
This statistic gives information on the internet penetration in Brazil from 2000 to 2014. In 2013, 51.04% of the Brazilian population accessed the internet, up from 9.15% a decade ago. There are no brands in Sao Paolo that actually sell fast food which is innovative, healthy, and freshly prepared to order. There are indirect competitors like the top restaurants with special chefs and other fast foods like McDonalds and Burger King. Also, these top restaurants provide good quality food that is expensive, and other fast foods that are unhealthy and low quality with medium costs.
PESTLE Analysis
Pestle analysis has been carried out for the Brazilian market to suit this marketing plan. Through pestle analysis, there was information that has revealed so much about this market for POD. From aspects like GDP growth rate to unemployment rate; from the market being highly bureaucratic to being the most difficult of all to open a new business because of its long legal procedure involved; from the socio-cultural to the environmental and technological aspects, all have revealed so much about the market that turned out to be very useful for us to consider before POD opens in its new market.
Pestle analysis was carried out in order to get a bigger picture of the market in order to assess any type of risks that POD might be exposed to in process of its launch in Sao Paolo, and also, take advantage of the opportunities that the market has to offer.
