IN GEORGE ORWELL’S ALLEGORICAL NOVEL ANIMAL FARM REPRESENTS THE RUSSIAN REVOLUTION as the story portrays that the animals on a farm rebel against their farmer.Although Boxer represents one of the tricked supporters in the russian revolution he is still the loyal, hardworking, and dedicated horse the other animals view him as.Throughout this novel Boxer has become well liked amongst the animals because of the traits he holds. BOXER SYMBOLIZES A LOYAL FOllower of NAPOLEON. Boxer has shown that he never had doubts about Napoleon as one of his mottos were “Comrade Napoleon is always right” (39).ALTHOUGH NAPOLEON WAS A MANIPULATIVE BOAR BOXER HAD TRUSTED HIM.However BOXER HAD proven HIS LOYALTY TO NAPOLEON NUMEROUS TIMES.Moreover Boxer showed his
This also shows that he respects Napoleon 's opinion because he is their leader. Overall, Boxer’s undying loyalty had been shown in several ways. Moreover, Boxer was the most hardworking
Boxer was always genuine with his words. This affected how the other animals thought of him. Boxer said, “Napoleon is always right,”(56). This saying displays that he was a loyal citizen to the farm. This demonstration of loyalty encouraged the other animals to always trust him.
A tractor is an essential part of a successful farm. A tractor is ready to take on a long day of work all year round. From planting crops to plowing snowy driveways, the tractor is capable of anything in between. A tractor is similar to a horse, it is capable of a lot of difficult farm tasks but isn’t very intelligent. Boxer is like a tractor strong and unintelligent but essential part of any farm.
Whenever the other animals start to doubt Napoleon, Boxer reassures them that “If comrade Napoleon says it, it must be right” (Orwell 82). Boxer and the other animals on the farm get mistreated in many ways such as, Napoleon takes away their food rations while the pigs and dogs get a large amounts of food and better living conditions. If Boxer wasn't on the farm the book would be different in many ways because the animals would have probably turned against Napoleon by now. The animals wouldn't have anyone to look up to or have to encourage
Ripken Roberts Mr. Jolley English May 15 2023 Nepolian was the dictator in the Animal Farm by Geroge Orwell; he made rules that forced the animals to work more with less food and would change the rules consistently for his own personal needs. Boxer was a horse in the story that would make the best leader out of all of the animals. Boxer was a nicer animal and would not take advantage of the other animals, he would take them to better and further places on animal farm. Boxer was a kind hearted horse and wished no harm upon any living thing.
By his hard work for all the days he has been living on the Animal Farm, Boxer helped this micro society to develop. He was by far the greatest example of the ideology that the pigs were there to share to the other animals, this ideology of work and obedience to the chief. By example, his work was very efficient to help the farm on the building of the windmill. This was permitting to give more power to the pigs, especially Napoleon, who was using people like boxer to improve their social status and greatness throughout the events. Boxer’s vision what the life was there for was the basis of the farm.
My goal is to describe Boxer’s removal from Animal Farm from his point of view (through the third person). It was a dry and arid midsummer afternoon when they took Boxer away. The heat was suffocating, but in the shade there was a cool presence. For the first time in his life, Boxer was vulnerable.
Even though Boxer is one of the least intelligent animals on the farm, he has the most morality. Beginning from this action, Boxer develops into the purest character in the story. After reading the entire story, this short sentiment impacted me more than anything else. Boxer is the physically strongest farm animal, but he only wants to use his strength to help the animals, not to kill. Even though Boxer is more than capable of killing most people, he values all life and refuses to kill again.
Boxer was the first animal to wake up and the last animal to sleep. He worked day and night restlessly under the guidance of Napoleon. He was the greatest supporter of animal farm and Animalism, the ideology that runs the animal farm. However, he had to sacrifice his own animal right for the sake of animal farm and the better life of all of us. Also, he was loyal retainer of Napoleon.
Juliette Blalock Singh 4/5 Animal Farm In the satiric novel Animal Farm by George Orwell, the character Napoleon represents a dictator in society, who turns a self-governed and unbiased farm into his own. Napoleon initially unifies with the rest of the animal’s, but soon decides to take matters into his own hands and disposes of Snowball and his proposals towards the farm. He takes advantage of the vulnerable animals so he can become in command. Napoleon is clever, brutal, and dictatorial to the animals.
In this story of Animal Farm, it represents characters and situations that establish a certain time in the Russian Revolution. Also animal farm reflects the Russians and farmer Jones that it represents the Russians Czar. Napoleon represents Joseph Stalin, and Snowball is Leon Trotsky. Boxer serves as an allegory for the Russian who help out to establish the Soviet Union. Animal Farm failed because not all animals are equal.
“Animal Farm” by George Orwell, is a story to show how absolute power corrupts, just as Stalin’s power did during the Russian Revolution in 1917. In the allegory “Animal Farm” each character represents a political figure from the days around the Russian Revolution. For example, Joseph Stalin is represented by a pig named Napoleon, Squealer, another pig, represents Stalin’s propaganda department, and the dogs represent the Secret Police (KBG). Using the nine dogs that Napoleon raises (intimidation), Squealer (propaganda), and manipulation, Orwell illustrates how Napoleon was able to gain and maintain control of the farm. The nine dogs that stay by Napoleon at all times are useful for Napoleon to gain and maintain control of the farm because they scare the other animals, intimidating them so that they do not disobey Napoleon.
Using the examples of Napoleon and Boxer this essay will discuss the truths of human nature and express the traits of these characters both good and bad including; loyalty and obedience as well as selfishness and greed. Napoleon represents the corrupt political dictators that have been in power before and even after the novel was written. He slowly and subtly put himself into power of the farm and was very manipulative in the way he got there. The animals were always ensured that everything he did was for the good of the farm but as the book goes on Napoleon’s hunger for power is revealed.
Boxer is strong, hard-working horse believes that Napoleon is always right. His personal motto ‘Napoleon is always right’ and also ‘I will work harder’ (Orwell 5.22) reflects his character which is someone who is very dedicated to his work. Benjamin is the oldest animal on the farm with the worst tempered. He seldom talked, and when he did, it was making a cynical remark among the society.
One of the most striking scenes in George Orwell’s Animal Farm is when the pigs sell their best worker Boxer to a slaughterhouse, after everything that he had done for them. Boxer is Manor Farm’s best worker and everyone knows that he is. He was often overused for his work by the farm’s owner, Mr. Jones. The night of Old Major’s meeting, Major predicts, “that the very day
