This letter provides information of patient’s diagnoses and enforces why a service dog would provide Kevin Hall with efficient support.

The book, A Dog’s Purpose, follows a dog who searches for his unique purpose in life. The canine experiences reincarnation four times, and in every one of his different lives, he tries to accomplish making his human happy. In his first life, he is Toby and lives in the Yard with a woman called Señora. Toby adjusts to his life in the Yard and assumes his purpose is to make Señora smile. He comforts her and takes pride in being her favorite.

“Under the ADA, a service animal is defined as a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability. The task(s) performed by the dog must be directly related to the person’s disability.” This information above does not disinclude any animal, yet states that a service animal is “defined” as a dog. The ADA argues that dogs are the easiest animal to train to do the job of helping their handler, yet nowhere in their rules does it say that a service animal is restricted to only that.

Therapy dogs are specially trained dogs who can help a variety of people in different settings. Imagine one day you are in a crowded area and all of a sudden you can't breath and are panicking because there are so many people around you.

A dog is a man’s best friend- a lot of people. Imagine you had some sort of mental or physical dissability. There are lots of ways you could get help, but a specific something sticks out the most. It is more of a someone than a something though. Dogs and lots of other animals improve lives in many ways such as aiding medical condition, lessen our stress, and help us do everyday or unusual tasks.

With research on the usefulness of service dogs in dealing with many physical and emotional issues, their training has evolved over the years. Before the civil war, most dogs were used for house things like pulling sleds, protection, livestock, and guarding your yard." Until dogs were first used during the Civil War in 1863. In those times all kinds of dogs were used for service dogs" (Lanting Fred, June 2012). Like pit bulls, Bulldogs, and Bull Terriers.

A service dog is a type of assistance dog specifically trained to help people who have disabilities. These dogs have helped people for a very long time, but having service dog isn’t perfect. Imagine you are a dog trained to help a disabled person. Would it feel good or bad? Dogs are still dogs, no matter how much they are trained.

Assistance dogs have been used greatly for hundreds of years to emotionally help disabled individuals. Recently, many of these individuals have included war veterans such as Lieutenant Luis Carlos Montalvan. Montalvan served in Iraq not long after the 9/11 tragedy. When he returned home his marriage ended and he was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder. Eventually, he discovered a service dogs program for people like him.

They can help people with balance issues from falling or help by cushioning their fall, Help a blind person cross the road, help someone with PTSD to finally get out of the house, Help someone with dementia or mental illness to take their medicine, and many more heroic behaviors. Any dog can become a service animal if they go through training. Any breed of dog can become a service animal too. All types of dogs are eligible to become services dogs, each potentially providing a different type of service. Service dog laws do not include dog breed restrictions or weight discrimination (“Service Dog Requirements”, 2017).

Many are not aware of the problems that using a fake service dog can cause, but those who are disabled understand the issue. This has been a problem for many years, and is only getting worse. Fake service dogs reflect a bad image for the real ones, and “discriminate against or restrict access to disabled persons” (Colman). The recurring problem of these fake service dogs is well known to such a small percentage of the population, it is difficult to create a stable solution that will be effective for a long period of time.

Pets have been apart of humans lives for centuries. Dogs have been known as a “man 's best friend” for good reason. Cats and dogs are among the most popular types of pets in the United States. *They both make great house pets, but dogs make better house pets than cats for all ages. Dogs are better for playing with, adapting to new environments, and are better protectors than cats.
