The Battle/Siege of Vicksburg The Battle of Vicksburg was one of the most crucial points in the Civil War. It helped Eradicate the Rebels/Confederacy once and for all. The Civil War was fought for over 4 years and it lasted from 1861-1865. It was one of the most horrific wars the world has ever known and witnessed.

General Daniel Morgan and General Nathanael Greene withdrew towards Virginia after the American victory at the Battle of Cowpens. The combined forces of both Generals and the diagonal travel across North Carolina allowed the American army to retreat without General Cornwallis capturing any Americans. Cornwallis followed closely behind the American army throughout the American retreat. After two years of campaigning in the Carolinas, Cornwallis desired to defeat Greene’s army. After approaching the Dan River, General Nathanael Greene ordered all of the boats on the river to be collected and brought to the same location.

Tens of thousands of people were killed during the Battle of Britain. Many of the fatalities were innocent civilians caught in the middle of enemy fire. Most that lived through the terrible battle were left without a place to live. Though Britain won the battle, many people’s lives were lost, countless houses were destroyed, and iconic structures were burned to the ground. Was it worth it?

It’s a total of 547,030 square kilometers and it shares a border with Andorra, Monaco, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and Spain. Paris is France’s capital and a large part of the population is located there. France began as separated section of the Roman Empire called the Gallic Empire. Their independence from Rome, however, was short lived and, in the Battle of Chalons, Rome re-established it’s hold on this section of Europe.
