Gun control has always been a very controversial topic ever since the founding fathers gave the citizens the right to bear arms but with recent school shootings, mass shootings and the amount of them increasing every year, gun control has been getting increasingly more controversial and as more people lean to harsher gun control to stop the growing problem. But all the reasons for harsher gun control do have their own causes that can be stopped at the source of them. Gun control is unconstitutional, it should not limit the citizens second amendment, gun control would not slow down gun and gang related crime, restricting or banning guns would not slow down school shootings, and outright banning would cause another prohibition like scenario.

The topic of gun control and firearm regulation has been subject to heated debate for a long while. Both sides have potent arguments, however the core of this issue ultimately boils down to the constitution itself. More specifically the second amendment. This argument quickly becomes quite complicated because gun control and firearm regulation concerns not only the right of citizens, but more importantly the safety of citizens. The second amendment helps to guarantee an imperative right belonging to all citizens.

Humanity is full of chaos; hate and envy seize our souls. Guns are the ultimate security for some citizens but for others, these add to a feeling of defenselessness. Moreover, even if the rules and regulations are executed on gun control, not all criminals obey the law.

We should raise gun restrictions rather than adding more guns because lives are being lost, guns only bring harm, and because we have seen the success of other nations who have raised restrictions. In recent years, the number of mass shooting has risen to about one mass shooting per day in the United States. The country is divided with some wanting to reevaluate our gun control laws and either ban or add additional regulations to the purchase of guns. Others say it is our right for Americans to own guns and something the founding fathers considered important to put in the Bill of Rights. The number of firearm sales has risen with the number of mass shooting many Americans question if banning guns or certain guns could help decrease the number of gun violence deaths.

While those in favor of gun control work hard to push their agenda, it is clear that America has far more citizens who favor gun rights over gun control. In order to get what they want, control supporters are going to need to get a big jump on gun supporters for house seats. Some of the control supporters have even begun to turn their head and give up on their arguments. Violence: physical force exerted for the purpose of violating, damaging, or abusing. With social media and twenty-four-seven news coverage, today's youth witnesses many forms of violence. Not only do we see it on our phones, we see it at school. And for an unfortunate few, it’s viewed at home as well. When we come to school we should feel safe.
