If there was a restriction on invasive species easily going out pet store doors, many pet owners would be saved the trouble. If a licence was required, inexperienced people would not even think to just buy an exotic species. With people already currently owning an exotic species that they can no longer handle, their is still an option for them. Every year in florida there is a pet amnesty day in many areas where you can take your exotic species to give up, no questions asked.

People, consider it “immoral and unempathetic […] not to keep an animal.” (Dick 10) Such a strong taboo exists against not owing an animal that there is a massive industry that provides artificial, but realistic, animals to those who are unable to acquire real animals. While this social taboo may be inconvenient to those who must care for an artificial animal, it does encourage or pressure many people to care for actual, living animals. This taboo appears to have arisen after the nuclear war.

I believe that this will change as you will all take part in the upcoming poll and vote for the right to exotic pet ownership. As a member of the board of “American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals” (ASPCA), I shall provide a comprehensive view of the problem and propose a law that will benefit all parties. Animal Rights Some people assume that just because animals cannot speak that they cannot feel pain. It is not okay to torture living beings that have their own thoughts and breathe the exact same air us humans breathe. It is unjust and selfish to stand by and take no action while everyday hundreds if not thousands of innocent animals die without reason. No matter how much fur or how many limbs the creature has; it should be treated as equal as a person. A heart beat is a heartbeat regardless of the body it’s in.
