The mix of formats for the future IndyCar races should use oval tracks races as this form is centrally more popular among the fans within the United States. Many believe this is what helps define the sport and its popularity. Furthermore, many critics fear that incorporating more road/street courses will weaken the sport and take the IndyCar series away from its roots (Ferrell & Hartline, 2014).
Moreover, IndyCar drivers are having to master the art of racing on a variety of tracks in order to excel in winning the championships. This further takes away from their fully mastering one skill over the other. By further implementing more than one option it further handicaps the sport and the drivers and takes it away from its origin and further increases concerns for safety because they are having to change frequently from one type of track race to the other. Furthermore, this cause a lot of confusion and adaptability and strict thorough layout and practice of the

Therefore, Nate and USA Today (n.d.), makes it a vital point that it would be unviable to abandon IndyCar oval track roots despite safety concerns because people desire to see speed and want to see broken records. Overall, I would continue to utilize the oval tracks and set in more safety precautions to help with promoting more safety concerns. However, I do not believe I would totally eliminate what drew the sport into being and that fans desire to see. IndyCar racing is centralized and primarily a fast speed sport that is essentially performed on oval tracks and that is one of the main reasons fans continue to come out and support the sport because they know they will see the performance on an oval track that originated in the beginning with the sport. Therefore, it would not be beneficial to take away what the fans enjoy and that brings in revenue and greater
On the afternoon of August 9, 2014 an African-American male by the name of Michael Brown was fatally shot to death by a Caucasian male police officer named Darren Wilson in Ferguson, MO. An investigation was immediately launched through the collection of evidence from the crime scene, multiple autopsies of Michael Brown’s body, and interviews with witnesses. For several months following the shooting and after the Grand Jury adjourned, there was immense public speculation and scrutiny over whether Officer Wilson justifiably shot in self-defense or in racially motivated cold blooded murder. This event produced protests, riots, and national media coverage. The two conflicting sides of the story were that Michael Brown was shot in the back with
This years cross country went off pretty well if you ask Harrisburg cross country runner Alexander Auch, If you ask him he will tell you that his favorite part of the season was watching his teammates improve and grow as a better runner and placing top 10 in just about every race and getting first in Brookings with a time of 16:40.66 and getting second as a team. Alex isn 't sure yet what he will do running wise after High School but he says if he get the opportunity to run in college he will take it and run with it. He will also say that he is exited for next year and looking forward to it he was been running all winter inside and out and don 't be surprised when you see him in the summer out there because the Harrisburg team has a summer
Rhetorical Analysis: Drifting as a Rising Sport Aristotle himself would be proud of Ryan Duval’s “Dialogue and Argument Project.” It starts off one morning with the smell of bacon in the air, Ryan and his father Steve flip through channels on the tv and stumble across a car drifting channel. Ryan is fascinated by it but Steve thinks it’s dumb and wonders how they even judge it. Ryan then explains that once you understand how the sport works, it no longer looks dumb. Steve then complies and asks Ryan to find more drifting videos so he can try to understand the sport.
Before the war, US interrogators were desperately in need to question Curveball since they got intelligence that Curveball was making weapons of mass destructions. Request by US interrogators to speak to curveball face to face fell in dead ears claiming that Curveball could not speak to Americans. In 2002, local CIA division chief met with German intelligence officer to arrange on how US interrogators could meet face to face with Curveball, but the CIA chiefs request was never granted. German intelligence officer claimed Curveball was mentally ill so there was no need to see him. On my opinion, the people to blame for this Curveball debacle would be the German intelligence officer who could not allow an interrogation session with Curveball.
Throughout the last two weeks, I have been reading Patrick Ness’ Monsters of Men and Garth stein’s The Art of Racing in the Rain. I had 478 pages left of Monsters of Men and I finished that book. I am currently on page 122 of The Art of Racing in the Rain. Monsters of Men was about the battle between Spackle and the people. There were two groups of people that were also against each other but they decided that they had to join forces because one group did not have food and the other group did not have water because the Spackle destroyed their supply of it.

The railroad had contributed many advantages, therefore dramatically affecting economic, cultural and social lives of the people in the United States. Economically, those advantages included more directed routes, greater speed, safety, and comfort than other modes of land travel, more dependable schedules, a larger volume of traffic, and year-round service. The railroad covered fifty miles in about an hour, 700 miles in a day. It went where canals and rivers did not go—directly to the loading platforms of factories or across the arid West.
Steven Fence steps out from the locker room connected to the back of the school and walks out onto the warm fresh August grass and takes large breath. Blond sideburns poking out of his hat sweat beading down his forehead. Knowing in months this big beautiful green field will resemble the great dust bowl. He blows his nibbled on whistle and gets his players in a huddle on one knee. Standing a 5’10 with a tan line on his forehead from his hat, lines running down the side of his face like racing stripes from him his sunglasses.
In today’s Modern American Society Track and Field records have changed so much over time being that they have gotten a lot better and people are taking their competitiveness to the next level by stepping up and setting a goal for themselves and each time they reach that goal they make a bigger and better goal and it just continues from there. Becoming an athlete takes time and dedication in what kind of athlete you would like to be. Every sport takes training and the love of the sport. No one is going to want to be in a sport that they don't like and training for a sport that you don't like is pointless because not having the love for the sport is a way of knowing that you are not going to push yourself to your full potential in the sport
Every year on the first Saturday of May, thousands of spectators flock to Churchill Downs to witness America’s top thoroughbreds compete in the Kentucky Derby. It is a huge event filled with celebrities, fancy hats, and fast horses. However, behind all the glamour and glitz, horse racing is full of ethical problems. Over the years the issue of animal abuse has been brought up in the discussion of horse racing. Racehorses are frequently injured, and these injuries often lead to death.
A 30 minute 46.3 mph average speed, plus high heights from 80 foot jumps, and risks of major injuries even death.(BeauxJeaux) What is an extreme sport audiences can't take their eyes off? The exhilarating sport is a jaw dropping sport with riders that are a different breed of athlete. A sport full of physically fit riders. This is the overlooked sport of motocross.
Hybrid vehicles, or more specifically hybrid-electric cars, have been the centre of debate since the premier models made their debut back in the 1990s. Environmental activists have been quick to advocate the perks in terms of reduced emissions of greenhouse gases. On the other hand, critiques argue if the costly hybrid technology is worth the savings in fuel cost over the long-haul. Hybrid vehicles use two or more distinct power sources that work in tandem in order to create power. While there is a wide assortment of vehicles that run on hybrid power sources today, cars enjoy the most popularity among consumers.

Proposal Over the past couple months, the phrase “stick to sports” has been thrown around a lot when an athlete expresses his or her opinion on a political or social issues. For my research essay, I will be looking further into and seeing if athletes should just “shut up and dribble.” Like a reporter told LeBron James I will explore the complicated relationship between sports and politics to see if athletes should keep their opinions to themselves. Americas Relationship with sports has always been complicated.
The sport has high risks of injuries and death. The reason of this is that the drivers of motor racing like to be on the edge on every corner on every lap so if something goes wrong even though a small thing then that would be your life. The safety in the olden days weren’t very good either. They had an open cockpit, no seatbelts, No suits and the helmet wasn’t mandatory. Even if the driver wore a helmet it wasn’t very protective.
