Ariana Cha combats a seriously pressing topic in her writing. While many articles are very quick to bash the school lunch program, while this article can enforce it. Cha is supporting the most common argument with the school lunch program, nutritional content. Cha is stating that the nutrients are offered, but are not being accepted by the students. The audience intended for this reading is, literally, anybody that disagrees with the provided meals.
Another enormous issue Americans should be complaining about, is the food children are being fed in Schools. More than one-third of American kids are obese or overweight. Nutrient-rich food are essential to mental and physical health. If our children are the most important investment for our futures, how we expect them to perform at their best with inadequate meals.

Every day students enjoy their lunches at school. They always enjoy eating their delicious meals where they have the option to chose what they want. If their lunch is changed then their options will be limited. Changing the lunch to be healthier will not be something that will be very great for our school. If the school lunch is changed then some of the students that are larger could not get the nutrition they need and hurt the ones that really need those extra calories.
In a result of this many people, health officials, and parents are complaining because there has been an increase of child obesity. Children grow up learning healthy eating habits and how to make smart food choices which will continue to follow them as they get older. On the other hand, children growing up with

Intro Name: Natasha Torres In the nonfiction article, “ Are Our School Lunches Healthy Enough?” by McClatchy-Tribune News Service. This article is about how the first lady wants to change school lunches to be healthier for children although the school nutrition do not like her campaign. Michelle Obama’s program should be banned because the school’s lunch is already healthy enough for example, some people are grossed out by the school lunches, some are disappointed, and some say parent can not be trusted.
Some people may argue that school lunches are not healthy enough and need to be changed to foods that are more nutritious.
It is spending money that we don’t have for a lunch with fruits and vegetables that we just throw away (4)”, students do not want just spend their money on food that is not even the half of the food they used to get in the previous lunch program, counting the price the lunches are higher and students are not happy with it. In addition, some students are choosing to get junk food, because the new federal lunch program do not appetize them “it was kind of ironic that we are downsizing the amount of food to cut down on obesity but kids are going and getting junk food to fill their hunger (6)”, so even if the federal is trying to involve the students to eat healthy, students would always pick the option more accessible for them, and that will fill their
When Barack Obama took the presidential office, his wife Michelle made it her First Lady initiative to work with school aged children. Part of this initiative included a program called My Plate to help make school lunches healthier by ridding them of unhealthy foods like pizza and brownies, and replacing them with healthier fruits, vegetables, and grains. Most school systems throughout the country have put this initiative into place, but some have met backlash from students as they have gotten rid of popular student dishes. School systems need to start healthier school lunch initiatives, even in the heat of student backlash, because they provide needed nutrition to students, they give parents a feeling of security, and they help student academic
Have you ever wondered if you could ever change the school lunches in the Public schools? Well you’re not the only one, many other people thought about changing the way you eat at lunch and started to change it. But some administrators what it to come to all schools, for the fact that they are losing money because kids stopped eating lunches at school.

There exists a tangible disconnect between the enticing, nutritious meals advertised on the school board’s menus and what the students actually receive—pathetic portions and lukewarm meals slapped onto a tray. Children’s complaints about school lunches are often seen as trite. However, while common, they are not any less accurate.
Cafeteria food in schools is made to be healthy for students, but is it really healthy for students if they think it is foul and do not want to eat it? Should schools change the healthy foods to foods that students would actually want to eat? School food’s job is to be healthy and tasty to get the students through their day, but sadly school lunches tend to miss the mark on both accounts. Public schools rely on money from the government to supply food to their students, but due to several cutbacks the thing served in the cafeteria is hardly food at all. We all know the stereotypical school food mystery meat Monday or a slab of grey mush and sadly that is not too far from what it is in reality.
