Robert E. Lee Robert E. Lee has always been thought by many as a god-like figure. To others he was a contradiction. Born on January 19, 1807 at Stratford, Virginia, Robert E. Lee was the fourth child of Revolutionary War hero, Henry "Light Horse Harry" Lee, and Ann Hill Carter Lee. Raised mostly by his mother, Robert learned patience, control, and discipline from her. As a young man, he was exposed to Christianity and accepted its faith.
Black History Month is an amazing month. It 's a month where incredible things have happened, many great people have done incredible things in this month. Black History month is based of many people, my favorite is Martin Luther King Jr. Martin Luther King Jr. is a great man and he did many great things until unfortunately on April 4,1968 Martin Luther King Jr. was fatally shot and killed by a white racist man James Earl Ray was sentenced into 99 years in prison. James escaped prison and then was soon recaptured and added one more year to total of 100 years in prison.
When thinking of black history month and how so many people fought for the rights of African American people, most of think of patriarchs like Dr. Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks, but how many of us know of the feats done by people like Claudette Colvin or Noble Drew Ali? Many people such as them go unheard of during this time of year and yet, they have accomplished such high feats considering what they went through. Being a minister and a politician who denounced racism like Henry McNeal Turner or the protests that prisoned Soledad Brothers began have not been recognized for so long and its time to remind people of what they have done. Many feats have been done, such as leading a revolt against a police station that refused to do the law services to a black family in need or the case of going against imperial influence from Britain. You can only wonder who else went unnoticed.

From all this experience, he has developed great communication skills, he learned how a business needs to be run, and how to work together as a group when needed. Monson speaks in front of many people all the
Percy L. Julian was one of the greatest scientific minds that ever lived. He made many medical advances in history that help us today. I led twenty-two students during their first year of college to provide them success as students. I co-taught a class that focused on study skills, UNK resources, and involvement on campus. My ability to communicate and adapt to the diversity of the class was shown through creating different learning activities to employ in the classroom. I exemplified team work by collaborating with another instructor. Through my experience as a Peer Academic Leader, I was able to hold two counseling sessions with each student per semester to provide myself as a resource.

A leader is one who demonstrates community stewardship and active citizenship despite the challenges brought forward. The contributions of those who change and challenge society leads to our diverse nation we live in. Exemplary Leader Report: Colin Powell Encapsulating the life and leadership of Colin Powell, the last line in his latest memoir, It Worked for Me: In Life and Leadership, reads, “The people in my life made me what I am,” (Powell & Koltz, 2012, p. 369). From Powell’s relationship with his Jamaican immigrant parents to Powell’s boss, the President of the United States George W. Bush, it was the relationships he built and valued with the average person all the way to those at the top who taught him and guided him throughout his career and life. Although Colin Powell rose to great heights in his career, he certainly did not start off advantaged.
