Animal Farm A Tyrant

Animal Farm by George Orwell is a political satire/fable. Animal Farm is a book about a farm of animals rebelling against their human farmer. They hope to create a society where they are equal and free. There is no set main character in this book, but the most “important” character is Napoleon. Napoleon is leader of the big group of animals and controls what happens on the farm.

Throughout the years there have been many tyrannical rulers. Although these leaders have very abusive regimes many of them stay in power because of use of manipulative methods. In George Orwells Animal Farm these methods are demonstrated in an allegory of the Russian Revolution. In this novella a farm of animals work together to revolt against their owner Mr Jones in order to escape his tyrannical rule. However, in doing so a pig by the name of Napoleon gains power and treats the animals just as Mr Jones did before the revolution.

I read a book called, “Animal Farm” written by George Orwell. The book is about animals on a farm who are overworked and aren 't treated well. Then, an insurgency made up of animals with pigs as their leaders, rebel against Mr.Jones (owner of the farm) by driving him off his farm. The animals try to make the perfect life for themselves, but that doesn’t go as planned. The animal farm then starts to fail.

In George Orwell's Animal Farm, Napoleon, a pig leader that represents Stalin from the Russian Revolution plays a big role in the book as the pig leaders are a superior group among the population of Animal Farm. In the story Napoleon is representing Stalin in Animal Farm as the main leader after Mr.Jones is ran out of the farm and Old Major died, resembling how Stalin took over rising to power in Russia. Napoleon started as a seemingly good leader but that soon changed… Napoleon, just like Stalin started to have problems with citizens of their own community and tried to hurt people and take things away. Both leaders can be shown using their superiority and power to their advantage to get everything they wanted and felt was necessary.

Animal farm is a book written by George Orwell. The book is a reflection of the events of the Russian Revolution and Joseph Stalin’s rise to power. Joseph Stalin is represented by Napoleon and the story follows the events that lead up to Napoleon’s rule over Animal Farm. During the novel, Napoleon uses both psychological and physical fear to control the animals. This is proved by Napoleon using Jones and Snowball as a Physiological fear, to prevent rebellion.

Napoleon initially unifies with the rest of the animal’s, but soon decides to take matters into his own hands and disposes of Snowball and his proposals towards the farm. He takes advantage of the vulnerable animals so he can become in command. Napoleon is clever, brutal, and dictatorial to the animals.

Lord Acton, the British historian, once said, “All power tends to corrupt, absolute power corrupts absolutely.” In the novel Animal Farm by George Orwell, the character Napoleon puts himself in charge. But, not only that he allows another pig, Squealer, to do his dirty work. And also uses dogs to chase his enemy, Snowball, away . In which leads to other animals not knowing that the farm is being ran the same way as when under Mr. Jones, the old farmer 's, control.

By promising freedom and bringing it forth but being won over by power and welfare, Napoleon turns the animals of Animal Farm into slaves. Causing all of this are the animals themselves as they are lured into the talks of their wrongful leader. Napoleon, as the wrongful leader, starts to take advantage of his power and begins corrupting the farm and the animals’ lives.

Animal Farm is a novella written by George Orwell, where a pig dictator, Napoleon, tries to gain power by using different types of propaganda. This novella takes place in an imaginary farm in England that focuses on politics. George Orwell said that he was inspired by the Russian Revolution, but the idea of the awareness of corruption applies to the world. Similarly to Animal Farm, World War II “was arguably the most significant period of the 20th century” (historynet.com) that lasted from 1939 to 1945. The corruption and dictation of the government was what inspired George Orwell to write Animal Farm.

In Animals Farm, there is a pig who’s name Napoleon. This character did not contributed to the society with his actions. In effect, he did not respect the concept of “Animalism” which is the equality of all the animals. He did many actions that broke this conception during the entire story. At the beginning, Napoleon, take the farm with Snowball when the farmer, Mr. Jones, left.

“Animal Farm” by George Orwell, is a story to show how absolute power corrupts, just as Stalin’s power did during the Russian Revolution in 1917. In the allegory “Animal Farm” each character represents a political figure from the days around the Russian Revolution. For example, Joseph Stalin is represented by a pig named Napoleon, Squealer, another pig, represents Stalin’s propaganda department, and the dogs represent the Secret Police (KBG). Using the nine dogs that Napoleon raises (intimidation), Squealer (propaganda), and manipulation, Orwell illustrates how Napoleon was able to gain and maintain control of the farm. The nine dogs that stay by Napoleon at all times are useful for Napoleon to gain and maintain control of the farm because they scare the other animals, intimidating them so that they do not disobey Napoleon.

In the satirical novel Animal Farm by George Orwell the author retells the prior and post events that occurred during the Russian Revolution through a rebellious farm in England called Manor Farm. On this farm, the animals were mistreated and decide to overthrow the humans. Old Major, a respected pig and wisest on the farm, had proposed the idea of a government of their own which began as an equalitarian government, but once a young boar by the name of Napoleon seized power, the principles of communism and totalitarianism were added to the regime. Napoleon obtained power on the farm primarily by elimination. He believed that if eliminated Snowball, another pig on the farm who stood in between him and his goal of ultimate domination, then he

Stalin, the leader of the Communist army in Russia and the most powerful man in the past uses violence to the ones that go against him. He has a style of dictatorship where many people suffer. Gunshots going across, people dying out, outcry, burst in tears with bruises all over the body, killing in harsh condition all occurs during Russian Revolution. The historical background of George Orwell’s Animal Farm is also the Russian Revolution. In the book, Napoleon uses dictatorship to order other animals, uses accuration, and give harsh punishment who block his way.

Throughout world history, people, who are in a position of power, abuse their power for their own selfish desire, such as Hitler and Stalin. The novel, Animal Farm, by George Orwell, is an allegory of the Russian Revolution about farm animals taken over the farm from Mr. Jone (the farmer) and maintaining the farm with the pigs being the leaders. The pigs or Napoleon (the leader) slowly drive the farm into hard labor and dictatorship. People who are in control could abuse power for their own personal desire, such as the characters like: Mr. Jone and the pigs. Mr. Jone, in the beginning, is always get drunk, never feeding the animal ,and always use the animal for his own desire.

The character that interested me the most in “Animal Farm” was Napoleon. Napoleon was an enormous, fierce-looking pig who operated on cruelty and deceitfulness. For instance, in chapter 3, as soon as the puppies of Jessie and Bluebell were weaned he took them away “saying that he would make himself responsible for their education” (Orwell 41). None of the animals knew why until chapter 5 when they suddenly appear, and like the KGB they chase Snowball across the long pasture to never be seen again. These dogs kept close to Napoleon, and “wagged their tails to him in the same way as the other dogs had been used to do to Mr. Jones (Orwell 58).
