Andreana Josphine Saputo was born January 19th, 1993 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Andreana was also born as Anthony Joseph Saputo. When Anthony was young, he was always the one to play with Barbie’s and invite girls over for sleepovers. In 5th grade, Anthony started wearing lip-gloss and more feminine attire. He realized that he was more feminine than his friends and he was attracted to guys instead of girls. Anthony’s parents held him back a year, because the guys in his class were horrible. The guys would make fun of him and call him names because of the way Anthony dressed and acted. Anthony would come home after school everyday crying because his friends were no longer his friends. He also cried because he was confused about what was happening, it realized it was not normal to like guys. Throughout high school, Anthony began to accept himself, but there was always a part of him that he kept hidden. Andreana was discriminated against all her life. The first major event that Andreana witnessed was when she was in 5th grade. Andreana was discriminated against when she wore lip-gloss and feminine clothes. The 5th grade guys stopped hanging out with her and started being rude and calling her names. Andreana was discriminated against because she chose to be different that the normal 5th grade guys. The guys could have still accepted her, but they made a huge deal about it. The guys were not used to seeing a guy dressed like a girl, but it did not give them the right to bully her. They were discriminating against girls who dressed like guys. This is how a lot of people are now in the United States, it is alright for girls to dress like guys, but when a guy dresses like a girl it is not alright at
Gene could not cope with his jealousy. He was so insecure of himself and jealous of Finny and he dealt with it poorly. Jealousy and insecurities are a part of every teens life. The survival of ones innocence, friendship and even life may depend on ones ability to cope with those insecurities and jealousy. This novel shows that not everyone can cope with insecurities especially with extra pressures such as the war.
The main theme of the book, Speak, centers around feelings of isolation. Before beginning her freshman year, the main character, Melinda, attends an end of the summer high school party. For reasons that are not made known until later in the story, Melinda ends up calling the police, which causes the party to get busted and makes everyone hate Melinda. In addition to being an outcast among her friends and peers, Melinda also struggles in her relationships with the adults in her life. Throughout the course, we have discussed how many topics of adolescence can be critiqued through books and movies.
When we read a piece of literature, we can get so impressed by a story that we do not pull the valuable life lessons from the book. We can use literary theory to pull out those life lessons to use them in our daily lives. For example, when reading the Scar Boys, we see the overarching theme of how loneliness can cause us to seek validation in places we should not. The outcast and the mentor character archetypes, the symbolic storm archetype, and the journey situational archetype evolve the theme of loneliness in the novel. `In The Scar Boys by Len Vlahos, published in 2014, we see a young adult fiction novel focusing on loneliness and coming of age.

Karla Almengo Christmas is to feel like family and I am someone extremely homelike. Since I was little, I liked this time of the year even though I am not a person who lets myself be carried away by fixed dates and organized by a calendar. However, the spirit of Christmas, the thought that time returned to zero by a being who came to world to teach us to love one another. I like Christmas decorations, and I like the air that acquires the cities during this time of the year, I like snow and cold. For instance, one of my favorite things that I love to do is decorate the Christmas tree.
After reading the argument from the author Deborah Tannen, I came across some observations of her which really made me wonder about how women are treated in the society. She says in her article about how she starts interpreting people in a conference of four women and eight men. I believe that each person has his/her own style in this world. The author observes a lot of things when she attended the conference. The writer indulges in interpreting three different women at a conference according to their appearance.

The author uses multiple examples of prejudice in the novel to demonstrate the destructive nature of prejudice on the characters in the story, such as fights between characters, friendships being torn apart, and people feeling ashamed of who they are and which social class they belong in. The first examples of prejudice shown in the novel are fights and hate between the two social classes. As a result of prejudice, many characters got into fights and there was a lot of hate between the two classes.
She was sheltered from sexism, something that is prevalent in modern society. In modern society, gender plays a massive role in the tasks people take on, jobs they do, etc. This also displays a major disadvantage in the modern culture. Allowing gender to withhold someone from doing something shows that equality is not as prevalent as it is presumed.
Christopher starts out by acting as Aspergers controls him. Christopher runs away from social interaction and communication. He goes on to challenge his Aspergers when he finds out that his father has been lying to him his whole life about his mother being dead. In the end Christopher sees the real world for what it is and doesn’t shelter himself through it. This makes the novel the perfect story the theme of coming of age.
Throughout this novel Charlie discovers things he never knew about himself. Just before Freshman year starts Charlie’s best friend Michael commits suicide leaving Charlie sad and alone. The school year starts off as any other new classes, new teachers, and new classmates. It is a chance for Charlie to start over, but he ends up being shy and unpopular just like last year. Charlie makes his first relationship with his teacher, Bill, who acts as a father figure that Charlie can trust.
The movie does not exactly enlighten all the issues that adolescents are going through, but it provides a story of a boy who overcame the things that were holding him back. This movie can be used as a motivation for others who are dealing with similar situations. Conclusion Adolescents experience a large amount of change including puberty, high school, and romantic relationships.
