It was as calm as the ocean, until a gun was fired and it turned to chaos. There are many viewpoints in the world. Some that are not so extreme and some that really need to be taken seriously. This paper is talking about gun control. “Gun control refers to an all encompassing term that can be linked to the specific laws and regulations enforced by the government restricting firearms as well as the safety measures such as safety components or trigger locks used for firearms and guns.” There are multiple arguments towards gun control like if the laws should be less strict, stay the same, or more strict. The topics in this paper are if the stricter gun regulations will not reduce gun violence, there should be a national right to carry law or the …show more content…
A “right-to-carry” law means that the governments issue concealed carry handgun allows any applicant to receive a handgun as long as they meet the criteria. The criteria to purchase a handgun is “the applicant must be an adult, have no significant criminal record, and no history of mental illness, and successfully complete a course in firearms safety training. Chris Cos says, “The act recognizes that the second amendment guarantees the fundamental individual right of every law-abiding citizen to bear arms for safety when traveling.” Studies have shown that 59% of people that carry a gun do it to protect themselves. “Rather than being victims, concealed handgun carriers have a sense of safety and security, especially when going outside at night or in dangerous areas” Chris Cox says “the 41 states that have the most tolerant right-to-carry laws have 22% lower total violent crime rates.” Those people who have met the criteria to purchase a gun know how to properly use a gun. If you go through the safety training nothing accidental should go wrong when you are carrying a gun. If you are carrying a gun in the event of a shooting you could stop the shooting. Some people say that there are police officers to stop the shooting but according to procon.org it said that one time it took a police officer to respond to a shooting in 58
Paper will discuss that controversial topic of concealed handguns. Being pro concealed weapons, I feel they can prevent crimes from happening and help people to defend themselves in dangerous situations. The contents of this paper will review the arguments for and against concealed handgun and will deliver a policy regarding the public health topic of concealed carry laws. Concealed handgun should be allowed for the main reason that they help to prevent crimes from occurring. Not only is carrying a handgun a right given to US citizens via the constitution (National archives, n.d.), but it's been shown that states with strict or bands on concealed weapons have higher gun involved murder rates (Gius, 2013).
Gun control problems Nowadays, we can hear the crimes related to guns from time to time, and each of them is scarified and influential. For example, the accident happened in Sandy Hook Elementary School leads to 20 deaths for primacy school students and 6 deaths for staffs. It is hard to imagine what degree of sadness in their family may suffer. In this way, many people think the government should have stronger gun control regulations.

Allow us to protect ourselves “Concealed Carry” Do you want to be the innocent victim? Or do you want to live to see another day. Concealed carry laws address the practice of carrying a firearm such as a handgun in public in a concealed manner.
The right to keep and bear weapons is protected by the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution, which is a part of the country's Bill of Rights. According to the amendment, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be violated since the security of a free state depends on a well-regulated militia. This means that Americans have the right to carry guns when doing so is reasonable and necessary for their safety. Over the years, the Second Amendment has been debated and has grown to be quite contentious for a variety of reasons. It is regarded as one of the most significant articles in the Constitution since it gives American individuals a way to defend themselves.
"Research consistently shows that having a gun is the safest way to respond to any type of criminal attack, especially these multiple victim shootings” says Dr. John Lott, an astute resident at the American Enterprise Institute and author of the famous book “More Guns, Less Crime”. Most criminals don’t want to fight, but in the case that the criminal is bent on leaving no witnesses, I would like to have a gun. America is built on freedom and people have the freedom to not carry a gun, but do not impede my freedom to carry one. If having a gun is the safest way to respond to any type of criminal attack then any reasonable person should come to the conclusion that people should be allowed to concealed carry a firearm in public.
“Another one?” says DJ Khaled as he watches the news reporter talk about yet another mass shooting. Gun control is a serious problem. Many people are coming together and discussing gun control, but nothing is being done to improve it. My paper is about gun control and I will discuss what my topic is over, how gun control has effected people, and what steps are being taken to improve these circumstances.
A weapon in the wrongs hands is the maximum danger humanity can face. Nowadays, violence and delinquency in society are viewed as the maximum problem solver. Humanity is full of chaos; hate and envy seize our souls. Guns are the ultimate security for some citizens but for others, these add to a feeling of defenselessness. Throughout history, any topic related to guns means a plethora of problems.
The use of and the owning of guns is a very hot and debated topic in society today. For many, this is a life and death debate due to the recent and numerous school shootings. These school shootings have caused an outcry for more gun control, specifically in relation to the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting. Despite these calls, increased gun control is not the answer. Most gun owners’ use their guns responsibly and for good purposes.
This paper also provides an interesting solution to gun violence; instead of already proven ineffective gun control laws, these authors suggest looking at why these laws are ineffective. Planty, Michael, and Jennifer
Some people might say that we need a gun to protect ourselves in the United States, but there are actually various ways to protect ourselves instead of using a gun according to the article, “How Americans Protect Themselves from Crime.” Transition to Conclusion: before the government legislates about the gun control law, we need to be the spearhead that is awake to this problem deeply and carefully. Restate Thesis: I am convinced that the entire civilian should not own guns to prevent the gun violence, and only government officers must be able to own guns. Review Main Points: we realize that erroneous gun possession contributes to horrible gun accidents.
Gun Control Lately people have been using guns in a negative way and causing a bad effect on the world. People have been using guns inapropriatly and have been performing mass killings. If guns are being used by people then the people using them should know how to use them correctly, or not being a crazy lunatic. When I was 12 I was playing with a pistol and accidentally shot it, I wasn’t hurt and no one else was hurt but somebody could have been injured badly. Gun laws are the cause to a lot of the violent crimes in the united states and laws need to be changed so people can’t purchase guns as easily that way we aren’t in as much trouble.
Instead of banning or limiting guns, the evidence will show that removing the current restrictions and targeting individuals instead of guns will be a more effective process. The topic of gun control has two polarized opinions. One such opinion targets the individuals responsible for the crime, instead of just the weapons. John Moorhouse and Brent Wanner tackle the issue of gun control in their article “Does Gun Control Reduce Crime Or Does Crime Increase Gun Control”, which was published in 2006 in the twenty-sixth volume of the Cato Journal. These researchers looked at the effects gun control laws had on violent crime and gun violence in the individual states.
With tougher gun control laws, there will be a lesser chance of another shooting. Owning a weapon makes a person feel safer. Pew Foundation report found that “79% of male gun owners and 80% of female gun owners said owning a gun made them feel safer and 64% of people living in a home in which someone else owns a gun felt safer.” The truth is owning
Do not handle a weapon under the influence, don’t point it unless you are going to use it, and never leave an unsecured gun unattended. Safety training is a responsibility as well. You have the right to purchase guns, unless the law says otherwise, such as a convicted felon. You also have the right to carry one with you as long as you do not break the law. Each state governs rules differently to protect their state, nonetheless must maintain federal legislation first and foremost.
