The reason why the colonist declared independence from Great Britain was because of unfair taxes. There was other cause factor of why the colonist wanted freedom but taxes were the beginning of the American revolution. Great Britain was in debt due to the Seven-Years war. They started to impose new taxes and policy on the colonist so they can also help Britain pay off their debt. Great Britain impose different policies, the Stamp act 1765 which imposed taxes on stamps needed for official documents, Townshend Revenue act 1767 which taxes glass, lead, paint, paper, and tea, and the Tea Act 1773 which taxes tea.

Thomas Paine's common sense pamphlet was influential and had a crucial part in the American Revolution. The american revolution was started for a number of reasons, but I think it was mostly because of the Townshend Acts. These acts were what caused the colonists to act against the British, one of the most popular acts that the colonists rebelled against was called the Tea Act. these Townshend Acts were made to fix Britain's debt in the British East India company. These Townshend Acts put a tax on imported goods like glass, paint, oil, paper and tea, making merchants make less of a profit getting the colonists angry.

The first thing stated in the Declaration of Independence is that all people are free and equal because they were born with a certain set of rights that cannot be taken away. The Declaration of independence also states that if the government does not do their job, then the people have the right to start a new government. The American Revolution embodied the principles of the Enlightenment and freedom from tyranny which represented social change from other forms of government, therefore it was certainly revolutionary at the time. Document 1 supports the opinion that the American Revolution was revolutionary because it represents the people's desire for freedom from tyranny by pulling down the statue of the “tyrant” king . Document 2 also supports the opinion that the American Revolution was revolutionary because it promoted the most far thinking beliefs of the Enlightenment, including equality, a government ruled by the people (Democracy), and the rule of law. With the Declaration of Independence, an entirely new nation was erected and an adoption of democracy

The American revolution was the single greatest event in the United States history. Without it America would only be an idea and not the greatest place in the world. I believe that the rights and democracy did not change drastically during the revolution but were solidified as ideals the country was founded on. The american revolution while clearly being deemed as a “revolution” for solving all the existing problems that started it did not affect the rights we practice at all.

Merchants and any other citizens were able to sell what they wanted without regulations from Britain. Americans could purchase goods without extreme taxes from a distant ruler. The major taxes were a huge part of the reason for the revolution, after the war the taxes were brought down but not completely eliminated. Prior to the American Revolution, the American People were under the rule of the British government. Due to the mistreatment, the Americans wanted to rebel and become free of British rule. In order to do so, they partook in the event of the American Revolution. During the American Revolution, there were many smaller battles and war within the overall war to achieve freedom. For Instance, the first battle was the Battle of Lexington and Concord.

Benjamin Franklin stated,” We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.” The division between the British and the British colonists led to the American Revolution. The Navigation Acts of 1660, the French and Indian War, Pontiac’s Rebellion and the Proclamation of 1763, the Sugar Act of 1764 and the Stamp Act of 1765 were some things that lead the Revolution. The Declaratory Act, the Townshend Act, the Boston Massacre, the Boston Tea Party, and the Intolerable Acts of 1774 were some more factors that lead to the Revolution. All of the taxes and conflicts lead to the American Revolution; however, not all of the colonists wanted war.

1 Before, During, and After the American Revolution The American Revolution was a major event for the founding of the United States of America. The events leading up to it, during it, and even after it had major effects on the foundation of this country. During the years of 1754-1763 the French and Indian War was a war between the British Empire and their Native allies and the French Empire and their Native allies.

The American Revolution in 1775-1783, was a fight for independence between the 13 colonies and the British. Events such as the Boston Tea Party, Stamp Act, and the Tea Act led to the increased tensions amongst the British and the Americans. In order to persuade the free blacks and slaves to fight for the American freedom, they offered them freedom from their masters’. However, it did not always have the slaves best interest at heart. The American Revolution served the interests of the American people to a great extent more so than the free blacks and slaves because they gained or retained freedom without joining the services.

The declaration independence had different sections and reason. The declaration of independence was a letter written for mankind to announced a separation between british. After struggling under British they wanted to announced a separation letter between British and colonist. Ther right were self evident that all men are created equal, that they are given by their creator with certain unalienable right, that among that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit happiness. They also thinks that this is the government responsible to make sure this right are protected and every mankind have this rights because of the government are protecting it.

The Declaration of Independence was written to establish the early American colonies’ freedom from an oppressive English rule. The preamble sums up the intent of the entire declaration: ”We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed, by their Creator, with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness”. An America without the creation of the Declaration is a totally different country. The document was and still is the foundation to the freedoms that most Americans take for granted today.

Soon after the Seven Years’ War, the British and the colonists learned that victory came with a rather expensive price (Kennedy, Cohen, & Bailey, 2010). Great Britain tightened its grip on the colonies in North America, expecting colonists to pay for their financial struggles. In order to make colonists pay for the war, Great Britain reminded the North American colonies who had authority by controlling the colonists to submit to various ordinances ratified by British Parliament. This action only showed that arrogance leads to rebellion socially, economically, and politically. Socially, a lack of communication between Great Britain and the North American colonies was to blame for the Revolutionary War.

All things considered, there are innumerable amounts of reasons that combined to create the American Revolution such as taxation without representation, mercantilism, British self-government, and so much more. Overall, the underlying reason for the revolt was the poor treatment of colonists in the Americas. Self-government was the idea that, typically within a colony, there would be elected rulers that are free to make a majority of decisions without having the need to refer to the official imperial power of the colony. It was established in the Britain, saying that British Parliament, rather than the king, had the absolute authority in government. In the 1730s, the Parliament started passing taxes, regulating the British colonies in the Americas.
