Its corporate office is in Columbus, Georgia. The current staff is over 8000 in both the US and Japan. However, there are over 74,000 license Aflac agents that work off commission. It specializes in supplemental/voluntary insurance policies that fill in gaps and offers additional coverage to an existing medical coverage plan. The company’s cute duck, marketing campaign, has helped Aflac differentiate is products from its competitors. “Empowered Benefits, which is a technology company that is providing cloud-based benefits administration and exchange platform solutions to insurance carriers, brokerages and employers (Aflac).” In additions to Aflac’s investments in other companies, it still looks to create new products of its own that will benefit the consumer. One of the latest products from Aflac is called Ben-Extend. “Ben-Extend is a group insurance product that combines accident, hospital indemnity and critical illness benefits in one simple plan (Aflac’s Latest Product).” Also, Aflac made the news lately when they brought Quacks to life. Quacks is Aflac’s mascot that is seen in their commercials. He is now a friendly robot. USA Today tells us that, “Users can manage the duck using a web-based app. The smart companion will mirror young patients; mood, go through therapies, and will dance, quack and nuzzle to help comfort kids (Molina).” Quack will be available for purchase later this year with proceeds going to children’s cancer …show more content…
