There are two divisions of professional identity, one refers to how a company or organisation conducts their practice while the other refers to how the individual staff portrays themselves under the company's codes. An occupational therapist's professional identity is a crucial element within their practice as it enables them to "function in different practice settings" (Kielhofner, 2009, p.10) and connect to different types of clients that may arise within their practice. Professional identity can also be shaped by the social value of that profession, and thus guides the delivery of their health and human services. As occupational therapy is valued as a leading profession and is highly regarded, professionals in this discipline are required to present themselves in the same highly regarded fashion. This obliges them to dress not only neatly but also interact with their clients in a formal, educated and knowledgeable way, in order to reflect the disciplines professionalism.

Surface Warfare Officers (SWO) are known as the backbone of the Navy. For years I have desired to obtain this position and have done extensive research concerning the attributes and requirements. Today, November 10th, is the 240th Birthday of the United States Marine Corps (USMC), and I am anxious. The Marine Corps Core Values are Honor, Courage, and Commitment these are the cells that make the marrow that's in the bones of the Marine Corps. They’re more than just a guideline on how to conduct yourself as a marine on and off duty, their a way of life. From day one of recruit training until our twentieth year in service we are expected to live by and constantly exercise these three values. With Honor you are meant to be loyal to the corps and all of its beliefs. With Courage you are expected to live up and beyond your potential to grow learn and test your limits.

After receiving The Medal of Honor, Douglas MacArthur said “ Duty, Honor, Country. Those three hallowed words reverently dictate what you ought to be, what you can be, what you will be.” When thinking about honor many may think that honesty is the most important characteristic to obtain. When being honest, people are held to not lie, cheat, or steal. Not only is a honorable person honest, they are fair, and also highly respected.

Warrant officers are the leaders of their field and experts in their trade. As such, they must be reliable, technically and tactically proficient, quick learners, and self-motivated, traits I already possess. I believe I have the necessary skills, experience, and leadership abilities to be a great asset to the Army as a Warrant Officer. I have more experience and training than most of my peers considering warrant officer as their next step. I have proven to be a dependable, capable, driven and a proactive non-commissioned officer throughout my career and have always sought out positions of higher responsibility.

Professionalism as Bartollas and Siegel define it “refers to a set of character strengths and personal values directed at providing the highest quality service to others in the workplace, both colleagues and clients” (2013). In the field of corrections, professionalism affects not only those working in the facility or those imprisoned within its walls, but the families of inmates and officers /correctional staff, the local community, and the relationships within the law enforcement community as well. As discussed in the text, there are several areas in which professionalism in the field of corrections must address to effectively maintain if’s facilities. Coming from BCT to my unit was a big change. You go from standard military bearing to a laid back informal style. I arrive to my unit in July of 2008, from that point until January 2010 was spent training for a deployment. Now there is nothing that can prepare you for a deployment. You can go through all the briefings and all the trainings you want but nothing will prepare you for it.

From the moment I was born I was considered a military brat, I was born in Hawaii at tripler hospital because my mom was in the army and stationed there, my biological father was in the marines. When my mom remarried when I was 7, she married a man who was in the Navy. Everyone thinks being a Military brat just means you know more than other people because you 've been more places and seen more things and you get a lot of stuff you want. This is not true at all. Coming from a military background means you never have stability, you are held to a higher standard than all the other kids, and sometimes it makes you want to be in the military and only focus on that.

There are extreme costs at risk if these principles are not held high by the Armed Forces.
