General History of Computers In today’s society we are surrounded and immersed in technology at every corner. Often, we don’t take time to think about how these extraordinary machines came to be. Computers these days are so technologically advanced that information can be accessed at the snap of your fingers. This was not always the case though, computers of the past have come a long way over the last hundred years or so. In 1880 the population began to grow so large in the U.S that we were unable to take accurate population census poles. The government began to look to the world of machines to do the work for them. Herman Hollerith fixed this problem by designing a punch card system to count the people, he then went on to create a company that would become IBM. This was important because companies like IBM have paved the way for the computers that we know today. In 1936, Alan Turing came up with the concept of a machine that can solve anything that needs computing. This was a ridiculous idea at first because it didn’t seem plausible but through his work he created what he later called the Turing machine. The modern computers of today are based roughly on his concepts. In 1943, John Mauchly and J. Presper Eckert built the first electronic numerical integrator and calculator. This was

Khalaf Alahmadi Professor Solarek, Daniel ENGL 1110 21 September 2015 Solarek, Daniel. Personal interview. September 3, 2015 Information Technology Between Huge Development And Its Impact Human advancement has turned an option stage with the rise, and, improvement of new and complex innovation. A piece of this wave is the Information Technology that has been changing at a quick pace. Information technology incorporates elements such as connectivity, as well as, the installation of relevant equipment to store, transmit or retrieve data.
For thousands of years people and communities from all over the world have Developed and formed civilizations. Civilization is the stage of human social development and organization that is considered most advanced. During the development of old and ancient civilization people of great minds helped to form the technology we have today using science and advanced engineering. And what is more important than the technology we have today other than the computer. Many people have contributed in the computer field from different societies and civilizations such as Al-Khwarizmi, Vint Cerf, Grace Murray Hopper, and Robert Noyce.
During that time, the central processing unit was kept in a steel cabinet that had a packet full of circuit boards in addition to gigantic transistors. The technicians and scientists that created computers by no means thought
First personal computer voice system, Lisa, featuring a mouse for navigating and desktop icons and folders, is introduced. Its failure is blamed on a daunting price of nearly $10,000. 1984: The Macintosh computer makes its debut. It is affordable and features innovations such as a disk drive, built-in monitor, and a mouse.
With the technology revolution in full effect, Personal Computers and the internet became a large part
Electronics are like the magic of twenty-first century. They were the start of a brand new era filled with technological advances and discoveries. Because of the invention of computing devices, humans could see the world at a completely different level, with a completely different perspective. For example, technology allows everyone around the globe to connect with one another readily, and even face to face. I dare to say that these advancements accelerated human civilization by decades.
