I sincerely would love to be a part of the computer science program here at Texas A&M University and feel qualified with my background in computers and various programming languages. I have been working to be the best student I can for this program by participating in coding activities and competitions like Hack TAMU, Hack Texas, Code Red, and some others. Along with that, I have been attending informative seminars like the Google Tech Talks and Resume Workshops hosted here at A&M to learn and help pursue my career related goals in the future. Also, I have become more involved with the Aggie Computing Society to network and attended informative meetings. I feel that I have proven my knowledge, ability to code, and ability to problem solve …show more content…
My first semester of college was quite rough, as early on a tumor was found in my mom’s hip. I was forced to drive home and help my mother and family out, making my transition into college extremely difficult for a while. My two Q drops my first semester were not because of my inability to understand the work, for when I retook calculus I got an 89 in it, but rather the difficulty I had dealing with this tough time and transitioning into college. Sadly, I also had to use two Q drops last semester with some scheduling issues with my afternoon classes because of that business I was running to pay for my tuition and necessities. I had to make a sacrifice here due to the fact that majority of my family 's money has been going towards medical expenses and my dad had lost his job. Fortunately for me, I decided and was able to sell the business to finish off paying for the semester, re-enrolled in those same courses that same semester, and am now getting financial help so I can strictly focus on my school work. Also, more than anything I am happy to say that my mother was declared cancer free near the end of last semester, so no other obstacles like that should come my way. I feel that my capabilities in school are reflected in how I did last semester once I was completely focused on school, making a 4.0 in important math and science courses and even my computer science course, as well as now having made

The definition of the word volunteer is to freely offer to do something. Looking at that definition, they word “freely” is key in explaining what volunteering really is. Someone who volunteers should do it out of the kindness of their heart and truly believe in what they are volunteering for without expecting or receiving any recognition of payment for their volunteer work. Although I believe any volunteer work is great not only for our community, but also for the individual, I am conflicted on the Silver Cord program. The Silver Cord program at Waukee High School provides great opportunities for high schoolers to give back to the community and get involved in other volunteering positions, however, do these high schoolers really volunteer their time for the betterment of their community?
So to give some insight, I will explain in hopes of shedding light on my actions from last Sunday. From the start of my sophomore year of college, I've been required to find a way to pay for school myself with little to no help from my parents. I don't receive financial aid or Pell grant like some students do. So there has always been a financial burden placed upon my shoulders which I continue to carry till this day. This fall semester of my junior year I'm taking 18 credit hours of course work, in addition to my requirements as a returning resident assistant.
The History of The University of Oklahoma The legacy of The University of Oklahoma started the moment, the first president David Ross Boyd stepped out of the train. In Norman,Oklahoma, the year was 1892 and the construction started immediately upon arriving. As a dedicated student, dismissal from Kaplan University has been an eye-opener. While I blame no one other than myself, it has been the hardest year of my life. My education has been hindered this last term due to a family illness. I failed to acknowledge the importance of my studies and allowed the sickness of my grandfather, my caregiver, to effect me. My grandfather moved in with me from Arizona to be closer to Sloan Kettering Hospital after being diagnosed with Lymphoma.
The impact of Excelsior Scholarship As a college bound New York student, the Excelsior Scholarship would play an incredible impact in my life. This is a great New York free tuition program that was introduced by Governor Andrew Cuomo. Students who are already living in New York who will be able to attend college full time will be able to benefit from this generosity. However, although this is a wonderful opportunity students who desperately need it may not be able to participate in it. Let’s consider students who work part time or full time, or for various other reasons can only do part time studies what will they do?
I am sincerely honoured and appreciative that I have been selected as a possible recipient of the Schulich Leader Scholarship. Becoming a great leader takes time and experience to cultivate. It means creating a path forward inspiring myself and others to be the best they can be. I believe that I would be an excellent Schulich Leader because I want to make a difference by helping others. With the resources that would be provided to me by being a Schulich leader, I would be able to help others to the maximum of my abilities.
After dropping out of high school, during my junior year, I fell very far behind. In order to get back on track I left my siblings with trusted family members and moved up to Alaska to stay with my father. In Alaska I enrolled back in school the following year and tried to catch up, to no avail. I switched schools three times before finally settling into an alternative school. As a result of my hard work and life choices I have caught up to my junior year in little more than two months.
Jack Ma once said, “The world needs new leadership, but the new leadership is about working together.” This could not be more true at Boston University through its Kilachand Honors College. I believe it is because their approach of interdisciplinary problem-solving, is about expanding students’ world-views. In this program you are learning with different individuals who have different interest and fields of study. According to Pew Research Center, “Political polarization is the defining feature of early 21st century American politics...”.

The story A & P by John Updike represents a quest because on this particular day in the store Sammy goes on a journey, faces challenges and discovers something about himself. Evidence of this from the story is first, due to the three girls entering his store Sammy is now on a journey of love with Queenie, even though she does not know it. From the moment he saw her she captured his eye becoming the only thing he could focus on and really care about in those moments of being in her presence. Another explain of Sammy being on a quest is the fact that he faced challenges and trials during the process. One of the challenges he faced is being scorned by the “witch” whom he was checking out when Queenie first entered the store because his attention
Scholarship Essay – Favorite Subject From cooking to financial planning, mathematics is used in nearly every aspect of our lives, and it is essential to the success of many everyday tasks. Math is my favorite subject in school because of its countless uses in everyday situations, necessity in businesses and the economy, and how it challenges myself and others to solve complex problems. One reason mathematics is my favorite subject is because it can easily be associated with numerous everyday tasks. Sure, not every lesson acquired in class is going to play a role in a future career, but many of the skills learned will be put to use at some point in life. For example, it is essential to use math skills when baking to ensure that the ingredients are properly measured out, otherwise, the end result will not be close to what is expected.
