Woodrow Wilson: Great Person And Role Model

Theodore Roosevelt was born on October 27, 1858. As a child, he was also timid and nervous. In fact, he had to be tutored at home by his Aunt, Annie Bulloch. He lived in a house with two sisters and a brother. His father made his fortune by being a banker and importer of glass.

Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson were both progressive presidents, but their approaches to regulating and controlling big business in the United States differed. President Roosevelt felt that big business were not truly villainous, for they were part of the 20th century playing a big part in the everyday American life. He felt that the commander in chief should be over the legislative action towards the reform. He asserted that the government should regulate the big businesses and trust to ensure that they did not misuse their power.

Teddy helped shape history because he wanted everyone to have a better life whether they be in America or outside the country. He gave us better working conditions, a more sanitary way to process the meat being sent out through America and helped keep a lot of our national parks and beauty of nature for generations to come. Teddy Roosevelt is man we can all look up to. He shows that we can be peaceful but that we should not be bullied by others. He showed this by negotiating peacefully and ending wars but also wasn’t afraid to show the power of his country and go to war himself.

Calvin Coolidge was president of the United States from 1923 to 1929. Calvin was born on July 4, 1872 in Plymouth Notch, Vermont. John, his father, was a farmer who worked in the Vermont House of Representatives and the state and with other local offices. He helped his father sell apples and doing chores around the store and at the farm. His mother, Victoria, died when was was twelve and his sister Abigail died several years later.

A passionate politician, he advocated for war with Great Britain shortly after the inception of the United States. He was the chairman on the committees that passed bills supporting roads, permanent roads, and a strong army and navy. During this time, he was a proponent of nationalism, supporting strong national policies. He served as the secretary of war under James Monroe. He was a leading member of the old Republican party (later the Democratic party).

Woodrow Wilson lived a simple yet blessed childhood. He was born on December 28, 1856, in Staunton, Virginia. His biological father, Joseph Wilson, was the descendant of Scottish immigrants and his mother Janet Woodrow immigrated from England at a young age (Cooper, 2017). Having immigrants as parents assisted Woodrow Wilson with accumulating votes in his later presidency. Wilson was the only president since Andrew Jackson to be the descendant of Immigrants.

He created the basis of our federal government and became our first President. Therefore, George Washington deserves to be in the Revolutionary Hall of Fame for his determination to fight, giving our military more strength, and the many great decisions he made in office. First, Washington has been determined his whole life. For example, growing up he was not able to get a proper education, but he worked as hard as he could.

Wilson was an educator and he supported the 19th Amendment, which was an amendment which gave woman equal rights like man which will give them the right to vote. Wilson didn’t support giving woman equal rights to vote at first but when he got elected at the time giving woman right to vote was big and it was being brought up when he entered the white house. He gave it some thought because he seen woman wasn’t giving up because they protested outside of the white house peacefully but eventually turned to violence.

Woodrow Wilson was a popular teacher and productive scholar, he gained much local and national recognition. While he was teaching, he also wrote books for profit. Novels such as George Washington (1897) and A History of the American People (5 vols., 1902) gave Wilson extra income for his growing family and their new home. In 1902 Wilson became president of Princeton. He was president of Princeton University from 1902 to 1910 and became widely known for his ideas on improving the education system.

Prior to losing the election of 1912, he helped the U.S with by doing anything he could to uphold America and its citizens. He also aided in American access to the Panama Canal. On economical terms, Roosevelt was the trust-buster, breaking all of the bad trusts in big businesses. He also was the president who enforced the Sherman Antitrust Act. Socially, he preserved millions of acres of land, entitling citizens to interact and have leisure time, and wildlife to prosper.

However, even with such widespread success many of Roosevelt's actions must be questioned ethically. Franklin Delano Roosevelt was born on January 30, 1882, in Hyde Park, New York. Roosevelt was born into a wealthy family that made their money primarily in real estate trade. The path that lay before Roosevelt, which help lead him to

President Woodrow Wilson was the last of the Progressive Presidents and as such caused great economic, political and social change. He served between 1913 and 1921 during which he imposed economic change through reforms, both national and international political change and a change in the role of women, giving them the right to vote. The effects of Wilsons presidency created abundant change within American society that had long lasting impacts. Political change was imminent in Wilsons second term as he was given emergency presidential power to, in some cases, bypass Congress, to speed up the law-making process. For example, he imposed the Selective Services Act in 1917 which authorised conscription in the US so that the military could be built up quickly and would not have to rely wholly on volunteers; according to Khan Academy this was well received by the American public as they were incredibly patriotic and believed it was their responsibility to support their nation, as such few men dodged.

Woodrow Wilson, the twenty-eighth President of the United States, is well renowned for many accomplishments; of particular importance is being credited as the father of Public Administration. Although he argues for many different ideas and concepts, his end goal is always for the benefit of the people. This particularly resonates in his 1887 essay; The Study of Administration. In his critically renowned essay, The Study of Administration, he details his concepts of and for public administration.

In a short summary, this is what happened after World War I. Woodrow Wilson created his Fourteen Points which was established to reconstruct the countries after the destruction of WWI. Since the war cost a whole load of money, many countries reached an economic depression, which reduced interdependence. Also, the establishment of the Fourteen Points led to the creation of The League of Nations. Although the League of Nations did seem like a good idea at the time, there were many issues with this system. For starters, the United States, who was the leading power at the time, never joined the League.
