Since there was many educational opportunities for women it began to lead more and more women to find their potential meaningful of their individual professional career. Also women 's salaries increased but not to the amount that men received. Even though women did not quite make as much as men do, it still felt like a huge accomplishment because it was much better circumstances than they had before. In 1972 the Equal Rights Amendment passed which lingered around congress for nearly fifty-five years. The wording of the ERA was simply understood: “Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex.”

Women used many different ways to earn the right to vote in the Women's Suffrage Movement. The first method was parading in the streets. There was a parade with floats and lots of women marching holding signs demanding the right to vote. This method was used to get publicity for their cause. It was reported about in the newspaper.

Though women were able to see some growth in the amount of equality they received, the hope for a truly equal society diminished somewhat as the men started to return from war. Women saw some of these liberties being taken away. Emboldened by the taste of freedom and of free will, the suffrage movement began to change the attitude towards the traditional “Motherly” roles that women were expected to fill. In the mid-1800s, many Americans had concerns about the issues occurring and the impact they made on the United States. To put an end to these numerous issues, many Americans decided to form groups, organizations, and also individuals. They would come up with a variety of strategies to make a change. They deserve the same rights as you. this way, in the future it will make it easier for these groups of people that are already fighting against injustice to improve their lives, instead of fighting against what leaders of the time say.

To make the article stronger, the author needed to add more primary resources. For example, she could put some pictures to prove that the bad political issues can affect all people’s life. Another things the author needed to change was the thesis. Block should sate her thesis statement clear in the introduction. I would recommend some people who are interested in women’s right.

Women in the United States have been the subject of inequality for centuries. Since the country’s inception, have faced unjust social and economic discrimination, a lack of voting rights, limited educational opportunities, forced traditional gender roles, and the inability to own property. In the 1800s, women in the North began to reject traditional gender roles and saw their quest for equality like that of enslaved people, who were shackled and controlled by white men. Many abolitionist women began to challenge the male-dominated society they lived in by taking direct action by advocating for women's rights, and this fight for equality would eventually lead to massive reform in women’s rights and change American history for the better.

During Progressive Era, there were many reforms that occurred, such as Child Labor Reform or Pure Food and Drug Act. Women Suffrage Movement was the last remarkable reform, and it was fighting about the right of women to vote, which was basically about women’s right movement. Many great leaders – Elizabeth Cad Stanton and Susan B. Anthony - formed the National American Women Suffrage Association (NAWSA). Although those influential leaders faced hardship during this movement, they never gave up and kept trying their best. This movement was occurred in New York that has a huge impact on the whole United States.

The 20th century saw a major increase in women’s rights, getting a step nearer to gender equality. It is defined as the act of treating men and women equally, having the same access to right and opportunities no matter the gender. Although it is not a reality in our world, we do have advanced in comparison to the last century. At the begging of the 20th century women still were considered the weak gender. Their education consisted on learning practical skills such as sewing, cooking, and using the new domestic inventions of the era; unfortunately, this “formal training offered women little advantage in the struggle for stable work at a liveable wage” (1).
