Wiccan symbols are used in spells and rituals. They represent elements of nature such as the Sun, the Moon, the stars and the Divine Spirit. They were used as sacred codes in rituals, ceremonies and worn as jewelry to protect the practitioner.
The common misconceptions of people who are misinformed about WitchCraft are that these are symbols of negative forces such as the Devil, which, by the way, is a Christian invention. Wiccans and most other pagans do not believe in the imaginary creature called the Devil. They prefer to acknowledge and celebrate the divinity of human beings and everything that surrounds them in a loving, positive manner.
The pentacle is a five pointed star and the most recognizable symbol of the Wicca religion. It may also be called the Witch's foot, the Morning star or the Endless knot. Pythagoras used the Pentacle to represent the human being with the points of the star representing the head, the arms and the legs. The addition of the circle is to unify the body and create a Spirit. The Pentacle represents the five elements of Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Spirit. The pentacle is worn around the neck to protect oneself. In Rituals, one can draw a pentacle in the air above the working space or on the ground with an Athame or sacred knife, or on a piece of paper to be used in the ritual.

There are many perceptions about the Devil’s Tower for many tribes and Native Americans. For the Lakota people the Devil’s Tower is a place of worship and sacred ground, is is the “center of life” for them. The name the use to call the Devil's tower is Mato Tipila, which literally means the “The Lodge of the Bear”. The legend is that the Devil’s Tower was created to save a group of boys fleeing from a bear. They also believe that if a man had a deteriorating heath, mind, and spiritually was to go in it, he would come out as rejuvenated and with “excellent health”.
Early whispers of Native Americans sacrificing and even eating their own to please their Gods quickly spread throughout the news channels of the English. Their religion was seen almost as voodoo and many, especially the Spanish, would rather christianize the Natives than see them as human who had a legitimate culture. Yet White 's paintings of "Conjurer", "Ritual Fire", and "Ritual Circle" told a rather different story of unity, nature, and peace when it came to the so called "voodoo" religion. The "Conjurer" is the beautiful remake of a man running peacefully through, what would be, golden fields, a bird figurine placed gently upon his head. His expression hold not anger or ill intent, just a sense of content.

The carvings may symbolize or respect cultural beliefs that go back from familiar legends, and notable events. The poles may also serve as functional features, welcome signs for village visitors, mortuary vessels for the remains of deceased ancestors, or as a means to publicly ridicule someone. Given the complexity and symbolic meaning of totem pole carvings, their placement and meaning lies in the observer's knowledge and were likely preceded by a long history of decorative carving, with stylistic features borrowed from smaller prototypes.
The Wiccan Rede, an ethical code, lets people choose their own paths so long as they don’t harm anyone. Good King Pausol, whom the creed took from, said, “Do want you like so long as you harm no one,” and Wiccans have used that motto for generations. Wicca came about in the 1940s and 1950s in England, pretty recent. (Guiley 371-72) John Gordon Melton says that modern day Wicca came from Gerald Brousseau Gardner.
Shaman or medicine men are the closes the tribe can get to the spirit world as a prophet for guidance. An assign priest is appointed that would guide them through the rituals and ceremonies. The priest would also have consequences if the ritual did not achieve what they chanted for as in health, rain, or abundance of crops. The prophets came later in the culture due to the fact the Cherokees were starting to be influenced by the white men.

Pentacles/ Wiccan While others might continue debating over whether the pentacle symbol should be displayed on furniture and fashion accessories or not, followers of the Wiccan religion are not hesitant to use it on various everyday items. They are proud to associate themselves with the pentacle symbol and everything that it stands for. For the Wicca people, the pentacle is a symbol of their faith – pretty much the same way that the Cross represents Christianity, the crescent represents Islam, and the Om symbol represents Hinduism.

Everything on Earth is composed of The Divine, and we all have the Divine in us. Some people say that everyone has a little bit of both Gods inside their souls, which makes up the balance of life. Since Wicca is so based in balance and talks about the Divine in everything, it is not a far stretch to say that it’s a nature-based religion, which it is. The religion of Wicca is all about living in harmony with everything around you, which is something that is talked about a great deal in the “laws” of the religion, called the Wiccan Rede. The Wiccan Rede is a set of rules that all Wiccans must live by in order to be Wiccans.
