In addition to being a full time student I work everyday just to pay for my education. I am financing my education 100% on my own with no financial help. At times it can be a tough task juggling school, studying, working, and volunteering, but I know in the end it will be all worth it. My parents are divorced and neither of them are able to assist me financially. Last year I was a full time PSEO student at Riverland. The main reason I did this was because I knew I wouldn't get be able to get any financial help, and I wanted to further my education. I will be the first one in my family to go to college and get a degree because of this I had to learn how to complete a FAFSA, the different kinds of financial aid, and how to pay for college all
I have paid for my entire tuition on my own with the help of loans, grants, scholarships, and paying out of pocket. The previous scholarships I have earned in high schools were the Viroqua Volleyball Scholarship and Judy Olson Follow Your Dreams Scholarship. During my sophomore year of college, I was awarded the Bob Walkoc Memorial Grant through the Wisconsin Landscape Contractors Association in Milwaukee, WI. Also, I was awarded the Pi Alpha Xi-Alpha Zeta Chapter Scholarship and the River Falls Garden Club Scholarship through the University of Wisconsin River Falls CAFES scholarship banquet. Ever since I was a sophomore in high school, I have consistently worked saving money to fund my tuition for college.
This placed us in a position to live a very restricted lifestyle . To help my parents, at the age of 14 I obtained not one, but two jobs. I served as a Peer Educator at Community Health Action, and I also became a Police Athletic League Counselor for my local community. These experiences taught me how to save money and gave me the power to purchase things for myself, as well as, for my family. I recognized then, I wanted a career so that when I decided to have a family of my own we wouldn 't have to face the financial burdens that plagued my youth.
My answer was that learning is never wasted and it made me feel alive. Since the cost was exorbitant, and financial aid packages didn 't exits, it simply wasn 't a viable option. Additionally all my sibling have done well without a college degree. My parents decision back then, although painful was the correct one. I 've had a successful career and even managed to take a few courses over the years.
I think that paying student should happen because if we get paid we have more motivation to do the work and have more reasons to do better. Every year 1.2 million people drop out of school because of no motivation. Plus if we save up we can pay for college. If we have motivation we have more control of our grades.
This change will never be possible, if every year millions of bright young students cannot afford to go to college. As, million more leave school badly in debt. We need to find a way to fix this so that we do not abatement as a country. Because I’m for sure tried of sitting back and noticing other countries like Germany and Sweden gaining a better economy then us. As our economic becomes fragile, because we are about 1.2 trillions in students loans.

March 1st is the deadline for applying for financial aid priority. However the official date for the deadline for the regular financial aid is unknown but the required forms are FAFSA and a state aid form. A SAT score of 1690 or higher increases the chances of getting accepted and a GPA of 3.50 and higher also increases the chance of admission. When I get accepted I can be comfortable knowing that the university is safer compared to other colleges since Stony has a weak history of illegal events that deals with robbery and possessions of illegal weapons. Stony offers scholarships mostly for everything and everyone.
I began my higher education in a community college after graduating high school, where it was easier for me to pay out of pocket. As I continue to extend my schooling, it is becoming a struggle and has become rough to come up with the money to pay for school. Especially, because I am stressfully trying to graduate quickly by taking 15 credits every semester. Which all adds up to be costlier. I believe I have always pursued for what is best for me
Growing up I never had any dreams; dreams were impossible to come true. My mother raised me by herself and the only thing she ever taught me was to keep a job. I wasn 't introduce to college until I was in high school; never even thought about going, it was pretty much unheard of in my family. After graduating high school I enrolled at a local community college. I thought it was the right thing to do since I would have been the 2nd person in my family to continue my education.
