Since learning AP Economics in my high school year, I have always desired to further my studies in economics. More specifically, I have wanted to study international relations in economics. Recently, Donald Trump has won the presidential election and his inauguration is expected to bring huge change in the world’s economy and foreign policies. These emerging crises have come to my attention and have sparked my curiosity. By applying for PEARL at Keio University, I plan to gain further insight into the topic. Rather than other universities around the world, I wish to apply for Keio University in Japan because PEARL provides a welcoming atmosphere for foreign students. As an international student, attending Keio University is a good opportunity to meet other international students and learn more about Asia. Having been to numerous international schools, I value the experience of meeting different people. I believe it’s a chance to learn about different cultures and develop into a well-rounded person as well. I hope I can use PEARL’s closely-knit environment as my advantage to encounter different international students and develop into a better …show more content…
Learning history is always important as it reveals our mistakes and grants us the opportunity to learn from our mistakes. My understanding of the history of economics will serve as a useful base-knowledge as I continue on my studies in economics. In my third and fourth year of university, I will broaden my field of study to an international level. As I have mentioned previously, I plan to learn international economics through classes such as International Trade or International Finance. Moreover, I will take business-related classes funded by corporates to get familiarized with industries in Japan and the real-world problems that they face. By taking courses at PEARL, I hope to utilize my knowledge to solve practical problems in the
Hi-Lighters is a club devoted to spreading positivity and instilling healthy lifestyle habits into members of my school. All high school students, myself included, experience stress sometimes, whether from school or family matters. Our goal at Hi-Lighters is not merely to encourage an optimistic outlook, but to work with members of my community to recognize sources of stress and strive to find ways to properly handle this stress, whether it be by developing stronger study habits or finding small ways to add movement into their busy schedules. Hi-Lighters also encourages students and faculty to recognize the incredible efforts faculty put into their work, with our popular Teacher Shout-Out Box. This is an opportunity for students and faculty
In addition, some of them may have had experience leaving their countries, but for others may be their first time, and for all the fears that bring in this process I want to provide any support. If we travel together we can remain together and as a group we can support each other, I could be a pillar for the strength of my group. For my return to BHCC my plan involves; participate more actively in school activities, interact more with students, and especially encourage them to acknowledge that every moment of study abroad, can be twice enriching that stay inside the classroom. Because no matter where you go, at a certain time will be necessary to expose yourself and make mistakes, learn from them and move forward.
Japan’s economic development had been shaped in various ways, including Japanese internal forces, and external forces from other countries. Although during the Tokugawa era, the Japanese were very closed off from the world for 250 years, once Commodore Perry and the rest of America threatened Japan with war Japan was forced to open ports for trade. Due to the Japanese lack of weapons the trading environment was very biased on the side of America with unequal trade. The shogun was once a Samurai and is now almost in control of Japan.
Why do I want to attend college? College is an honorary achievement and it separates the determined from the undetermined. Owning a college to degree is an honor and an ecstatic feeling. Through college, that job is that much closer in the grasp. Through college, a person can perform at an elite level and really push themselves for greatness.
Additionally, I realize that intercultural understanding is an aspect that cannot be ignored when pursuing my dream.
In a burgeoning economic society, merchants played a vital role in weakening the influence of the bakufu through a strategic understanding of capital. The resulting social tensions, as well as a financial crisis, heralded another end of an era, transitioning Japanese society away from feudalism and toward rapid modernization. During the Meiji Restoration, “Japan came to acquire almost all of the ingredients of a modern state,” including a centralized government, a national economy, and an emphasis on industrialization (Iriye 729). Furthermore, the expansion of education allowed for the political and economic development of the public to better serve the nation “as citizens, producers, and taxpayers” (ibid. 730). Production in this case, however, did not equate to
Why I chose an apprenticeship over university... Like most college students I had no idea what I wanted to do after I had finished Studying for my A-levels. It seemed like my only option was to go to university, this certainly seemed to be the norm with my peers. So I applied for English Literature and Law Programmes and successfully got conditional offers for both. I then started an LLB Law course at the University of Sunderland in September.
I have always had an interest in Japan and its culture. Because I would like to teach English in Japan as a career, I decided to learn about their educational system is like, and how it’s different from ours. I got really intrigued by the differences and polices they have. List the essential questions or research questions that drove your investigation. What are the similarities and differences of the Japanese and American education systems?
In addition, People goes to college for many different reasons. The most important reason why I am going to college is to gain more knowledge and learn more skills exploring Variety of different things. General knowledge and skills are essential because most jobs require people to educated and possess excellence job- orientated skills such as public speaking, and critically thinking. Andrew Abbott made a great point in his speech “The Aims of Education Address’’ on September 26, 2002, that although we will forget certain knowledge they learned in college, they will retain cognitive skills.
It is important to study something in school that you enjoy but that is also useful in the real world. I have always been asked, “what's your major?”. I would answer art history and always got a response like, “what are you going to do with that?”. Most parents and students don’t feel that there is a good foundation from learning Art History. It is often heard from high school and college students (influenced by their parents) that to succeed you must major in science, technology, engineering, or business.
I want to enter into the field of education because I want to see children succeed. I love to let children know that they can accomplish anything that they put their minds to. I want to enter the field of education because I genuinely have a passion to teach and better every child that I can. I aspire to be a teacher because I want to become a great teacher that kids can look up to. I hope to someday be a teacher that when a child grows up they still remember fondly.

I had an opportunity to talk with these students. Most of them win the scholarship to study in Korea. This is also the motivated me to want to study in Korea even more. I belong a merchant family.
Studying abroad more excellent than studying in Kuwait No one can deny that studying abroad is extraordinarily useful for students. Studying abroad helps students to achieve a higher level of education in plenty of fields that might not be available in their country. It also helps them to learn a plethora of material and gain experience in their life.
