My plans for Summer 2018 were to spend time with my family in India after a long and productive Spring semester at Pace University. I was looking for summer management internships in India when my father suggested taking a look at an opening in Grant Thornton. It is the fifth largest accounting firm in the World. The internship position was in their Business Advisory department providing transaction advisory services(TAS) to various clients. The TAS department provides due diligence to clients on their mergers, acquisitions, and demergers. I was thrilled to learn that this internship tied perfectly into my summer plans.
As a management major at Pace University, I have discovered that I like the world of business and management. I appreciate

First, through transaction advisory, I want to gain a practical understanding of Finance. Although I will not be pursuing finance as a career path, I feel that it is necessary for me to have a basic understanding like I did with accounting. This I believe would aid me in my long-term career goals. Second, I wish to test Business advisory as a possible career concentration. Third, as a short-term goal, I wish to expand my horizon of Microsoft Excel in order to apply it to my position as the Chief Operating Officer of Pace Delivers. I am given to understand that I would be working a lot with excel preparing reports. I really hope I can make Pace Delivers extremely successful. Finally, I want to understand how a workplace really works. I acknowledge the importance of internships during my undergraduate years to gain more information about professional development, possible areas of opportunities, knowledge, and skills required to be successful in the field of management. I want to be able to polish my skills, while also gaining all-around personal and professional development. This will be my first real internship. Although I interned for my father for a while as an Accountancy intern, I know he went extremely easy on me. If my internship is going to be anything like my first week, I am sure it is going to teach me valuable lessons on time management, uncertainty,
My choice of college would be Stone Brook University! Why? Well is because it's in a suburban area that reminds me that I'm still home and most of all it is a one hour drive from where I live(Obviously the university it is located in Stony Brook). The college itself is a public institution with an undergraduate enrollment of 16,480 students. The college was founded in 1957 and it is considered as one of the top best colleges, ranking as #89 in the class of National Universities Ranking.
One could say I have it tough when it comes to meeting my parents expectations. Growing up in a traditional Pakistani household with two parents who have worked their whole life to get where they are. My dad had to work hard, and labor away to get from the bottom to the top, he wants my brothers and I to not go through what he did, and receive good Education, because “without education you won’t go anywhere in your life”. Ever since I can remember, my dad was always compared me to my older brothers. “You’ll see, she will beat you both and get top 10 in her class” he would say.
This internship provided me with the opportunity to work long, tireless nights in the summer setting up stages,
Harmonizing business courses with opportunities such as internships and studying abroad at the Smeal College is perhaps the most pivotal way in which I will explore my academic endeavors. The chance for me to major in Risk Management with a concentration in real estate and minor in international business is particularly enticing because I will have the opportunity to learn from situations where I will be forced to think on my feet; the leadership skills that I have learned thus far from National Honor Society and from my real estate internship will allow me to succeed in doing so. Likewise, international travel is a way for me to enhance my knowledge of business on a global scale; by traveling, I will become globally conscious,
Throughout my teaching experiences, I learned many of the skills that constitute excellent teaching at any level. I became proficient in curriculum planning and development and in the incorporation of inquiry-based and collaborative learning activities. I honed my ability to structure presentation of concepts and learning objectives, allowing students to move from basic understanding to synthesis and evaluation. I learned how to implement multiple learning modalities and varied assessment styles to reach a diverse community of learners. As an Assistant Professor at George Mason University, I will bring an emphasis on hands-on environmental science education and apply the pedagogical strategies I sharpened during by classroom teaching experience
Georgetown has been my dream school since sophomore year of high school. I would like to study at Georgetown in particular because of my connections to the east coast and specifically Virginia. I currently live in El Paso, TX, which happens to be on the opposite side of the country from the majority of my extended family. My aunts, uncles, and grandparents all live along the east coast and some even live in Virginia. It would be wonderful to live closer to family, but even if that weren’t the case, it would still be my top pick.
I’m working at has a bad stigma from the local areas. I have had to defend my job and my students a lot to the community and other teachers. I work with a veteran staff and I have had the opportunity to work with great teachers. I feel welcomed and the principal is trusting in my abilities and has provided me the opportunity to run my own program and I’m still making adaptations to reach all of the students.
I enjoy the challenge of thinking through more broadly in my internship and going out of my comfort zone. This internship is pushing me outside of my comfort zone to understand the importance of communications and social media to an

The internship was related to accounting and business analytics. It was my first foray into a corporate work environment and my first experience working abroad. While I had spent time preparing for the work I would be doing,
I maintain Departmental Notional allocations as well as support the Departmental Business Planning Process with financial analysis. Before that, I worked as a financial analyst at DND at ADM(Mat) for financial services for capital projects where I kept track of the capital projects on a cash and accrual basis. Prior to that, I worked as an FMA at DND for the Innovation for Defence, Excellence and Security (IDEaS) program. The IDEaS program is a transfer payment program that is looking for solutions to support the development of defence and security capabilities. Before that, I worked as a financial officer in the financial advisory services for Real Property of Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) for more than four years.
As I am still exploring what area of the field I want to work in, I believe that this internship will expose me to unique experiences that will help me find my passion. I was previously selected to participate in the High School KP Launch program, which helped me get a fell as to what a full-time job feels like in the real world. I can assure that if I am reselected in the KP Launch program, I will take advantage of everything the program offers including the skills and experiences from people who have worked their way to where they are
During the internship, I spent most of my time assisting the events manager with a wide range of projects, including those that promoted the hotel’s event services. My most noteworthy work was on a series of flyers
During my internship program although our team had no leader, I took the responsibility to distribute the work among our team to ensure we finished on time. I am always a team player who believes in ‘Teamwork makes a Dream works’ – The benefit of accessing more ideas, working in harmony and helping each other for achieving mutual goals. I also never restrained myself to curriculum and participated in many seminars on topics related to computer science, information technology, and entrepreneurship. I underwent training in programming language and was also exposed to the practical nature of
Abraham Lincoln once said, “The best way to predict your future is to create it.” I have to be able to set goals and accomplish them. I need to do research and most importantly I have to find out who I am and what I am passionate about. I will be spending a lot of time to make my future great. I have learned how to prepare for college and how to save a lot of money.
