Being a dentist means you need to be trained in hiring staff, and choosing who will be best with your patients and work well with the other staff. It is very important for the new employes to be confident in their roles and positions so they perform at their best. On a daily basis dentists get to see many different people and do different tasks. Being a dentist means you get to fill cavities, look at x-rays, whiten teeth, treat gum diseases, pull teeth, take measurements and make models for dentures, and teach patients how to prevent oral health problems. Being a dentist means giving anesthetics and writing prescriptions for antibiotics and other medications.

Kids screaming, different tools and sharp objects all over the place , the kids are terrified. The job of a dental hygienist can be very frustrating but fun. I want to become a Veterinary Tech because I love animals and I love taking care of them. I’m a people person and I enjoy working with the public. Recently, I moved into a neighborhood with a lot of elderly neighbors; I started helping them take care of their dogs. I would get up in the morning and walk their dogs before I left for school.

You are always early and on time and is not always rushing in the office and making a scene. I believe a good dental assistant is someone who wants to learn more and isn’t always checking the time to leave the office. I agree that being initiative and showing that you are there to learn more every day is a good thing. My ambition to study Dental Hygiene and Therapy at University commenced in my teenage years, when I first came to London and visited the dentist. The professional approach coupled with a kind and compassionate nature and all of the different instruments and scientific technology the Dental Hygienist and Therapist used fascinated me. I am currently studying Dental Nursing at Teesside University. This course involves providing correct support to the dentist at the chair side, reassuring and supporting patients, maintaining a gold standard clinical environment, charting, dental anatomy and physiology. Studying this course has enhanced my knowledge of dental terminology and procedures as well as the anatomy of the oral cavity.

Now that I have my mind set on my aspirations, I hope to practice the qualities needed to be a triumphant dentist and dental surgeon. My love towards human biology especially human teeth also contributes to my career choice. Most importantly, I find human teeth interesting, often fascinating.
