The main reason that I want to go to college, is that college could be the last time for myself to have an educational experience before going into the work force. Honestly, I was never very fond about thinking thoughts of “more school work” or “four more years of school” until my sophomore year of high school. This changed when I started putting more thought into my future, and had the realization that it was essential to go to college, because I wanted to better myself with more knowledge. Yes, college would involve countless nights of school work, but it would also include valuable education that could be used to have a lasting impact in whatever career path I choose. Another fundamental reason why I would like to attend college is
They seek to gain knowledge, to be exposed to ideas and philosophies that will enhance their lives. One of the main reasons to obtain a college education is the hope of using it to find a job that will enable them to live a comfortable life with a financially secured future. Some students go with the hope of meeting that one special person who will always care for them. Some students go to college so that they can move up in life.
According to the reading "Why Go to College" in my ENF book, students have many reasons for attending college. One reason for learning is to adapt to new situations. College is far more different from high school; consequently, adapting to the college atmosphere often takes more time. Another reason is to learn about different cultures and people through this experience. A third reason is to be able to better deal with advances in knowledge and technology that are changing the world as the world is filled with technology because new things are invented every day.
Why do you want to go to college? Ironically, this question was first asked of me by my parents. This was a long time ago and the world was a different place.
Why do I want to attend college? College is an honorary achievement and it separates the determined from the undetermined. Owning a college to degree is an honor and an ecstatic feeling. Through college, that job is that much closer in the grasp. Through college, a person can perform at an elite level and really push themselves for greatness.
Being an immigrant from Mexico to the United States has opened many doors for me. Having the ability to attend college is one of those opportunities that I have had the privilege to take. Tommy Hilfiger once said “The road to success is not easy to navigate, but with hard work, drive and passion, it is possible to achieve a dream.” At this point in my life my dream that I wish to make reality is to attend and graduate from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
Doing what I love and being able to support myself and loved ones is important to me. I am a very independent person and I like to do things my way. I like to set individual goals everyday, whether that means doing my homework before a certain time, or completing something for the week. They help me get my work done on time and efficiently.
I have spent countless hours trying to make the right decision on where I should start my journey to success. After deliberating it, I have decided to attend Augustana College in Rock Island. Augustana is a medium private liberal art college that is located in Rock Island, Illinois. I feel that Augustana has what I need to complete the goals I have set for myself. I plan to major in psychology or double major in pre medical and psychology.
“Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all,” said Aristotle. Aristotle, a Greek philosopher, was absolutely, undeniable correct by saying that even the most respected knowledge is worthless without the passion or heart. Even though he was a philosopher from centuries ago, his ideals apply today. Going to college and graduating with a degree is only the beginning of my young life. When one is taught to care about their family and community, it is their goal to use their education to benefit those around them.
Though there are many, the main reasons that I am getting a college education is to learn about what I am passionate about, to have more career options, and for financial security. The most important reason that I am going to college, first and foremost, is to learn. When I was younger, I always knew I wanted to study people. However, the thought of studying anthropology and sociology-type subjects never sat well with me; these subjects reeked of subjectivism and a not-so-subtle vibe of “you’ll never get a job with that”.
Another reason why students should go to college so they can be ready for the real world. Other than working with different people, college students will have to take action and responsibility on their own. For instance, they will have to wake up and be on time for their classes, get there work done and then have time for themselves. “You don’t have to be great to get started, but you have to get started to be great. “Les Brown.
Education is very important to all of us as we decide what type of career we want. While I attended public schools growing up, I always thought about attending college. However, I became prepared for college when I attended Heritage High School through academic programs such as taking advanced placement classes, listening to advice from guidance counselors, and developing intelligent study habits to pursue my goals. One way I prepared for college while in high school was taking AP classes. Since AP classes are more difficult than standard class I had to put forth my best.
I have lost sleep for several nights just wondering what my life would be like one day. What do I want to study in college? What do I want to work in? Who am I going to marry? Where will I live?
College. It is something I have been thinking about ever since I started attending school. I thought about what I wanted to do and what kind of person I wanted to be. I was not sure at first until an exciting trip to Maryland changed everything for me. I remember back in sophomore year when I was starting to worry because there was no careers that interested me.
The future is a big worry to many students as they go approach high school and graduation. Some have no idea what they want to do with life. Some students have known what they aspire to do even back to their freshman year. I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my future until this year, my senior year. I definitely know now that I want to go to college after high school.
so when I start my career I can be prepared. My mother was not able to go to a university when she graduated high school because she became pregnant with me. Because of her struggles, she has always instilled in me that graduating from a four-year university is the most important thing to do in my life. If I went to college, I would have a bright and successful future because I would be fully developed into a responsible and well-rounded young
