If the athletes were being paid they’d stay in school and have a “better” look at life. It is not an irrational statement to claim that Division One Athletes should get paid due to time and revenue put into the un iversities. Adolf Hitler once said “Give me an athlete and I’ll give you an army”, this is indeed evident that college athletes should not get paid to play.

Another valid argument for why they deserve to be paid is because a scholarship for the athletes doesn 't normally cover all of the tuitions. So the players are forced to pay the rest of the tuition to go there and play. Not everybody can afford to pay for college that is why they work their butt off for a scholarship. A case happened at duke university where a player got a scholarship and still had to pay 1,995 dollars for his scholarship. The study shows that the players were living just 732 dollars above the poverty line.

As professionals in their career choice, they are entitled to earn as much as their talents and opportunities are able to afford them. They people inspire and motivate people in societies. As the athletes receiving scholarships have a full ride through college their payment is in the form of education benefits as opposed to direct compensation.

The pro athletes get paid for their hard work why don't college athletes?College do as much hard work as the pros but they still do not get paid. They both compete for championships and practice almost everyday. College athletes have to wait to go to the pros to get money when they should get it now. College athletes work on their sport everyday like a job so you should get money in exchange for your work and labor. Athletes need to be healthy but how can they do that without the right food which cost money.

They risk the rest of their lives to entertain and make it a living, but they can get hurt at any time. It could be an injury that could ruin the rest of their lives.

These athletes buy a lot of homes and cars and most of them don’t realize that they can’t afford to pay the taxes and it can cause them to get into serious debt. It may be hard to believe but some athletes don’t even know how to cash a check. Which is even more strange to know that a an adult can not cash a check. Critics argue that the athletes are being paid reasonably but the athletes that are getting paid millions of dollars are only the age of 19-21 years old. Since most athletes face bankruptcy they only keep their money for a few years.

College athletes put in a lot of time, effort, and work into the sport they’ve played since they were young, but they aren’t getting paid for it. These student athletes deserve to be paid because they put in countless hours of hard work and balance sports with school work. College athletes don’t have time to get a real job. Student athletes have a very busy schedule, they don’t have time to fit in a job.

People know that doctors and firefighters save lives, while athletes play a game to make money. Even teachers pay isn’t anywhere near to athletes; they educate the generation’s youth so they can make a difference in the future. So many jobs that are very important don’t get paid as much and that money can go towards better causes. But these are only some of the reasons that pro athletes get paid too much.

Athletes - Paid for Their Worth Most people think that athletes are overpaid and see huge contracts come out every year. It’s not everyday that an athlete wakes up to a 20 million dollar contract. In fact, they actually worked for it over many years of training and dedication. Pro athletes are paid exactly what they deserve because they work hard and sacrifice more than most people think. It's not just businesses paying them; people do things like buy merchandise, tickets to the games and support their favorite teams while the athlete does the “dirty” work of performing.

They don’t think that 's enough they think they should get paid for the sport they play as well. There could be a policeman with an entire family, and an athlete will make more than them in one paycheck, while that family is making significantly less in 10 years. These reasons prove that more important jobs deserve to get paid more than athletes. Now. some athletes spend their money responsibly.

Professional athletes are extremely overpaid for the “jobs” that they do. They only entertain for a living and get paid millions of dollars per season. Each sport is different in how they pay their athletes, and the difference in salaries from one player to another can be in the tens of millions of dollars. These athletes are paid for jobs that they only do for a certain number of games and do not even play the games over the course of an entire year. In most professional sports, they play in games for only a few months and then have a few months off.
