Why Did Oskar Schindler Support The Holocaust

I believe that Oskar Schindler was completely different than most other Nazi’s. He actually sees Jewish people as humans which is something Schindler could get punished for. One example of this in the book is when he comforted Moshe during his work at the factory. Schindler put his hand on Moshe”s shoulder and said, “It will be alright Moshe.” This is something that would get Schindler killed if it were at any other place then his factory because he was treating a Jew kindly. Furthermore, as a Nazi, Schindler should support the Holocaust and what is happening but instead, he tells a Jew that it will be over and everything will be fine. Even Leon said that he found this very weird. He was expecting Schindler to be mad at him but he instead promoted him to a harder job. In addition, Schindler even thinks about the pain of the Jews and tries to help out unlike the Nazi’s from Plazow who don’t just don’t care. Leon told us in the book that Schindler sometimes left him extra portions of food out of the kindness of his heart. Even though Schindler had put in more effort, he still did it anyway. Furthermore, Schindler also really cares about his workers. Leon said this about him in the book. “He had an uncanny ability to remember names. I had grown used to the fact that to the Nazis, I was just another Jew; my name didn't matter. But Schindler was different.” That really shows that even Leon thinks that Schindler is not just an ordinary Nazi. Sometimes even we can’t remember names but Schindler took it upon himself to try to remember all his worker’s names. This deeply shows how much Schindler is against the Nazi’s and resisting the Nazi rule. Finally, Schindler has so far saved Leon and his family three times.
