Why Am I Attending College Essay

Many people are just as healthy and happy with great people skills that didn’t attend college. People having healthy children and have proven their ability to achieve major milestones. Graduating college can also prevent saving for other milestones in life. College gives you the chance to do about anything that you want. You have to be careful because not going to college might not get you the dream job you want.

You can do a lot without a college degree, but it does help you build experience and for some jobs a college degree is required. One of the biggest reasons college degrees is worth it is due to the amount of jobs offered to people without a college degree is greatly decreasing. Everyday there are less and less jobs for high school graduates without college degrees.

As long as I can remember, I knew that college was going to be part of my future. That is because I always knew what my family expected out of me. College is not only important to me for the reason of making my parents proud, but for making sure that I create more out of myself, as well. With a higher education, I will have more job opportunities available, potentially be able to earn higher income, and obtain more useful life skills than somebody who does not have a college education. To begin, having a college education under my belt is important to me because I will have more opportunities for a job, after I complete my four years.

That was until, I saw that my parents were struggling financially and then filed for a divorce. Every time things got hard, both my mom and dad would tell me to “Focus, take school serious so that you can be successful and help us in the future”. Those words were my call to adventure. That was my motivation, that made me graduate high school and enroll myself at College of Saint Elizabeth. I decided to attend college because I knew that, that would make my parents happy.

Is College worth It Should you go to college ? Here 's some reasons why you should. Each year there are thousands of students enrolling into college hoping they will get in to study and learn about their dream job. Many colleges have been around for decades.

Why do I want to attend college? College is an honorary achievement and it separates the determined from the undetermined. Owning a college to degree is an honor and an ecstatic feeling. Through college, that job is that much closer in the grasp. Through college, a person can perform at an elite level and really push themselves for greatness.

Many times in life what we dream, what we want, does not happen the way we expect to happen. In order to attend a four-year university to get my bachelor’s degree I had to go through a series of situations that would teach me how to be a better student and a better person. Being an immigrant, and especially a teenager, is not easy and it was not easy to me at all. When I was in my junior year of high school, I only had one year living in the U.S. I was still trying to adapt to my new country, to my new life, to my new school; however, it was not as easy as it seems, although I was always an excellent and hardworking student back in my country, El Salvador, I was not succeeding the way I wanted to, especially in school. Doing what I love and being able to support myself and loved ones is important to me. I am a very independent person and I like to do things my way. I like to set individual goals everyday, whether that means doing my homework before a certain time, or completing something for the week. They help me get my work done on time and efficiently.

The reasons why I am attending college Personally, I decided to go to the college because my parents always taught me that a higher-education could offer me a better life. I attended an extraordinary high school in Italy but I wanted to continue my education here in Miami. I am attending college because I will get an excellent job and most like it make more money when I graduate, I will build more knowledge and skills and finally I will have the college experience and make more friends.

Though there are many, the main reasons that I am getting a college education is to learn about what I am passionate about, to have more career options, and for financial security. The most important reason that I am going to college, first and foremost, is to learn. When I was younger, I always knew I wanted to study people. However, the thought of studying anthropology and sociology-type subjects never sat well with me; these subjects reeked of subjectivism and a not-so-subtle vibe of “you’ll never get a job with that”.

In addition, People goes to college for many different reasons. The most important reason why I am going to college is to gain more knowledge and learn more skills exploring Variety of different things. General knowledge and skills are essential because most jobs require people to educated and possess excellence job- orientated skills such as public speaking, and critically thinking. Andrew Abbott made a great point in his speech “The Aims of Education Address’’ on September 26, 2002, that although we will forget certain knowledge they learned in college, they will retain cognitive skills.

Being the first one in my family to go to college I had to like up to big expectations. I was the first for everything and that was a challenge particularly for me. I ended up going six hours from home and would just change the experience that I have had for the world. I have learned so much about myself as an individual and I feel tremendous growth within myself. Although this experience has been a good way for me to grow and reevaluate what I want to do in my life, I feel as if I have grown out of where I am at right now.

Growing up, I always thought of college as the simple part of my education. I would pay a little money, chose were I stayed, who with, and I would study in what I wanted to be when I got older. Then I would graduate and skip into the sunset. When I actually got older I discovered nothing was that easy; especially college. There were so many factors needed to be taken into consideration when it came to college to even choose from.

so when I start my career I can be prepared. My mother was not able to go to a university when she graduated high school because she became pregnant with me. Because of her struggles, she has always instilled in me that graduating from a four-year university is the most important thing to do in my life. If I went to college, I would have a bright and successful future because I would be fully developed into a responsible and well-rounded young

What makes people decide whether they want to go to college? Throughout school, teachers, counselors and parents always talk about college and how important it is. Parents even start funds for their kids for college while taking them on college tours and interviews. Showing and giving kids an opportunity to see what going to college will be like. There may be just as many reasons kids may not want to go to college, but with that are also some good reasons to go.
