Who Caused the Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet? Romeo and Juliet is a a story of full of love but it ends in great horrific tragedy. Many people can be blamed for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet, Friar Laurence and The Fued have had a much greater influence. Many people even belive it to be that Tybalts is the root cause of their deaths. Romeo and Juliet met at a party hosted by the Capulets that Romeo stuck into with Mercutio and Benvolio. They fall in love quickly and are married the next morning in secret by Friar Laurence. In the same evening Romeo and Tybalt get into a fight. Tybalt kills Mercutio, Romeos best friend, when he try’s to kill Romeo. These events cause Romeo to kill Tybalt, Juliet’s cousin. In the story The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare The Friar makes some pretty pour choices which ultimately led to most of the deaths in the story. The reasons why I think the Friar cause most of this is because one, The guy faked Juliet's death without informing Romeo beforehand he sent it after Juliet had drank the potion and the wedding date changed. Secondly, he married Romeo and Juliet in secrecy, but neither family gave him consent to do so.
