In order for a place to be considered a national monument it must be historically significant in the United States of America. Once this is determined by the national government it will then be made available and kept up to par for any people who wish to visit it. The President Lincoln and Soldiers Home is considered a national monument because of its popularity amongst the Presidents, specifically President Abraham Lincoln, throughout the years and because it is one of the first places to be considered a home and provide services to veterans who have served for our country. Given its importance in the history of our country it is essential that one be informed of the reasons it became considered a national monument in the year 2000.

In “George Washington’s Farewell Address”, Washington addresses the nation as a final farewell as a means of resignation of presidency. Washington leaves the nation with compelling ideas in order for continued success. He discusses that the nation benefits with a federal government, we should eliminate political parties, religion and morality are important, to preserve public credit, to steer clear of foreign alliances, and to avoid overgrown military establishments. In “The Rise of Presidential Power before World War II”, author James T. Patterson discusses the development of presidential powers in America from the 19th to 20th century.

Criminal Justice on the Political Platform In the United States, many political icons use their successes in hopes of gaining appeal to the voters in their pursuit of election and re-election to public office. This statement holds true when someone uses the criminal justice system as a platform for election or even re-election to sheriff, judge, or even a prosecutor. Recently in Arizona, a man named Joe Arpaio used his tough approach to crime and corrections in order to secure multiple terms as the Maricopa County Sheriff. Who is Joe Arpaio?

On April 30, 1789, Washington took the oath of office and began his new job as President of the United States. He had traveled from Mount Vernon to New York City slowly, accompanied by celebrations, cannon salutes, and parades. Soon afterwards he fell very ill. A tumor was discovered in his leg. When the surgeons went to remove it they were certain they would kill him.

Carly Fiorina is an American Republican politician who is a running candidate for presidency in the 2016 United States Presidential election. She was born on September 6, 1954 in Austin, Texas. Her father was involved in the government and he served as a Deputy U.S. Attorney General and a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Fiorina attended many schools including Channing School in London which she attended when she was younger, and five high schools, Charles E. Jordan High School in Durham, North Carolina being the one she graduated from. She attended college at Stanford where she received a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and medieval history in 1976.

It Only Takes One Second What bigger dream could a child possess than to pursue a career as president? Parents all across the nation instill the possibility of leading the country into the minds of little boys and girls each and every day. The concept of supreme power, a mansion, and nationwide recognition fabricates a false depiction of life as the president. Representing an entire country is an immense amount of power that can cause “heavy strain” on an individual (Coolidge 240).

The role of the President of the United States of America is defined by those who have held the office. The vagueness of the Constitution has allowed the power of the office to grow and shrink with the personal differences of the men who have held the position. The presidency is not just effected by those who hold the position, the institutional environment and the society of the time also take a massive role in determining the power and effectiveness of the presidency. Theodore Roosevelt and Andrew Jackson are two of the most influential presidents because they were adored by the people. Roosevelt and Jackson both stretched the power of the presidency in ways that were never envisioned by the framers of the constitution.

Also the African Americans and white had spate bathrooms. The final major event that happened during his lifetime was the Civil rights movement. This was a big movement for the African Americans. The biggest reason to why this movement was big for them was that it started an end to segregation.

Although reconstruction brought essential changes for African American slaves it ultimately failed its purpose of unifying the nation. However, in order to comprehend why reconstruction failed it is important to understand the two phases it underwent. In addition, it is also crucial to look at the different plans that were propose in order to reunify the nation and if they were successful or not. First, phase one the presidential reconstruction was very complex due to the fact that it was carried out by two very divergent presidents and lacked unification. On one hand we had Abraham Lincoln 's plan which consisted of reconstructing and unifying the nation again.

Whites had slaves work their mines and farms, the two most important jobs at the time. Without the slaves, no one was there to take care of their families and maintaining submission was the rule of the land. However, it was arguable that colored people were the main reason that the country was striving. It was so unfair that slaves built this country off of their diligent and humbled work ethic, yet they were still viewed as being far inferior to whites.

For the chimney, the people would take wet clay and smash it on each brick before they stuck them together. The homes in the New England colony weren't that big. It was a small house and a one story house that didn't have that much space. The houses inside had nice small decorations. Washington Becomes U.S. Capitol- In November of 1800, president John Adams became the first of the United States Presidents to live in the White House, previously on June 11, 1800 the Federal Government decided to move the nations capitol from Philadelphia Pennsylvania, to the city of Washington in the District of Colombia (Milli Canter). When Adams first moved into the White House it was still under construction by the French engineer Pierre Charles L’Enfant chosen by George Washington. Overall the location of the capitol was a compromise between the northern states who wanted to pay off the national debt, and the southern states who wanted the Capitol's location to support agriculture and the slave trade (Washington). This decision had a significant impact on the culture and social structure of the United States.

There is one thing for sure and that is that the President has the hardest job in the world. He does everything that he can to help keep our country safe and make sure that everything runs well. When it first started the founding fathers set out to make a small government and not very big decisions. In our world today the President of the United States has the most important job in the United States of America.
