The least honorable character of Julius Caesar is Brutus because he went against Caesar and fought against his people who all loved him. Yes, he was fighting for the town but Caesar had it all under control. He was a good king to the people. Brutus had no right to move forward with conspirators to kill Caesar. You never go against your friend. That is not called being honorable at all. No matter what happens, you always stay truthful, trustworthy, and reliable to your friend. Brutus is the least honorable character of Julius Caesar because he broke trust which is no honorable. If turning your back on a friend is honorable then I don’t know what this world has come to. Brutus was not honorable, he let Cassius persuade him so easy into the murder of his friend. Yes, Brutus did what he thought was best for Rome but he commited a sin and was disloyal. Loyalty in a friendship is one of the most important things but that is most definitely not what Brutus has. Killing someone for your country is really not an excuse to murder someone. He loved Caesar as a friend but so easily went to Cassius. …show more content…
As stated in the text, “Yet, I see thy honorable mettle may be wrought from that it is disposed”, as was said by Cassius towards Brutus. He feared that Caesar’s ambition would hinder the countries fate. If Brutus admits that Caesar was good for the people then wouldn’t that mean he was good for Rome too? He had admitted to the stabbing of Julius Caesar so that means he has no shame, correct? Yes, Antony claims Brutus to be an “honorable man” but in reality he believes no such thing. Murder in no way is right. Which in return is making him in no shape or form,
Brutus did not have enough reasons to kill his best friend, he was threatened. Although he cared about the well being of the Romans, why be friends with someone that you have enough doubt
Brutus is rarely remembered for doing “what is best for Rome.” This proves my side that the good is buried with your bones, and the evil lives on. The line between good and bad is a very jagged one. Everyone has their own opinions and they differ from one act to the next. Some may say that stealing food to feed the hungry is a crime, but others say it is meant to help someone, so it is acceptable.
He tried to keep it minimal by devising a plan to only kill Caesar and keep Marc alive so it wouldn't seem so obvious to the people. “Romans, countrymen, and lovers! Hear me for my cause, and be silent that you may hear: Believe me for my honor and have respect for mine honor that you may believe." Killing someone for the sake of keeping your country alive sounds outrageous however during that time, it was much different. So if it meant taking out one life then a life it is.
Was Brutus Noble? In Shakespeare 's’ The Tragedy Of Julius Caesar, one of the main characters, Marcus Brutus, is found dead by the noble Mark Antony, and is called “The Noblest Roman Of Them All” (Julius Caesar Act 5, scene 5, 68–72). Antony 's’ statement is a true one for many reasons. The first reason would be that Brutus was a man who valued his friendships over all else.
If then that friend demand why Brutus rose against Caesar, this is my answer: not that I loved Caesar less, but that I loved Rome more.’’ (pg. 20) Although there is reasoning behind Brutus’ decision, Brutus still had stabbed his own friend, Caesar in the back with a knife, both figuratively and literally, labelling Brutus as a traitor.
The least honorable character of Julius Caesar is Decius because he lies to people oftentimes. According to the text, Decius tells Caesar that his wife’s nightmares mean nothing at all and that Caesar should still show up to the Senate. This is very unhonorable, as one should always tell the truth. Based on the text, Decius is the type to lie often. The evidence is showing that the more honorable characters never lie as much as Decius.
Even his enemies knew he was honorable as said by Antony in Act V, Scene V, lines 68 through 72, “This was the noblest Roman of them all. All the conspirators save only he did that they did in envy of great Caesar. He only in a general honest thought and common good to all, made one of them.” Antony talks about how Brutus killed Caesar for good reasons and he was an honorable man who made smart decisions and loved those around him. Brutus may have fallen to his own mistakes but in the end he loved everyone around him and killed Caesar for the people's
The other two characters that were mentioned Cassius, and Brutus have shown multiple reasons not to be trusted or strong . Cassius being very weak but still reached his goal. Brutus being strong but did not reach his goal. “Thou art the ruins of the noblest man That ever lived in the tide of times.” Caesar was a noble leader and would of perfectly taken care of rome and the people of
What does it mean to be honorable? It means bringing or worthy of honor and That is one thing Brutus is known for and the conspirators know this. Even though Brutus himself would later take part in killing his friend Julius Caesar, he does not do it out of jealous, envy, greed, or just pure hatred. He does it because it is what he thinks to be honorable. But to me the fact the he helps kill his friend Julius Caesar is dishonorable, not in the sense that killing is wrong but in a way that it makes Brutus looks honor hungry.
The least honorable character of Julius Caesar is Brutus. The main reason Brutus is dishonorable is because he betrayed his friend Caesar. Brutus shouldn’t have made Caesar think they were friends because in the end they weren’t true friends. If Brutus wanted to be seen as an honorable friend he should have sat down and talked to him about what he was doing. Instead of doing this, Brutus killed Caesar and helped the conspirators.
He explains that has Caesar had to die for his ambition and since he loved Rome more than he loved Caesar it was his duty to kill him. He also states that he is sad that Caesar had to die but that he would prefer him dead rather than have the people of Rome as slaves. He finally says that he will kill himself when his country is in need of his death. In the end of the story he does kill himself therefore he was true to his

I would also consider Brutus a traitor when he lied to his fellow citizens. he lied to them in order to kill Caesar butt from seeing this part one might believe Brutus is a traitor. this is due to the fact that even though he was on this side of Rome and her people, Brutus left them out thus betraying his own people and leaving him a betrayer. finally one might suspect brutus to be a traitor killing the Emperor. surely killing one 's King means they 're a betrayer right?
