Between 1876 and 1896 Congress had to deal with four major issues, along with other issues. The four major issues included tariffs, currency, civil service, and government regulation of railroads. While dealing with these issues they had to put into consideration their needs, the peoples needs, and what makes a healthy government. The issue of tariffs made Congress decide wether to raise or lower tariffs. The two parties, Democrats and Republicans, did not see eye to eye on this issue. Republicans wished for high tariffs, while Democrats thought they needed to lower tariffs. Republicans saw tariffs as a protection for business and farmers in America. If there was a high tariff on imported goods people would be more likely to buy less imported and more locally grown goods. On the other side, Democrats wished for a low tariff because they thought that governments who did less were the best, so if the government put a high tariff on imported things they would be too controlling. During the Civil War paper money had been made, but at the time it was not exchangeable for gold or silver. Congress had to decide wether or not to keep the paper money, get rid of it, or make it exchangeable for gold and silver. People had arguments on why they should do either option. The ones who voted to get rid of paper money or make it exchangeable feared inflation. Where the people who voted to keep paper money said there was not enough gold and silver to support a growing economy. In the end they had to take so much silver and turn it into silver
The Compromise of 1877 was brought to attention recently, shortly after the Presidential Election of 1876. It called to resolve the disputed 1876 presidential elections in the United States. This was supposedly a deal to make it so Rutherford Hayes, the Republican Party candidate running for president, could become president. The Democrats would also become powerful in the governments within the South. Having Hayes, when he would become president, promise to allow troops to be pulled out of the rebelling states and slave states out of the South, it would the Democrats to become just that.
The Constitution of 1876 was not the first constitution Texas had declared for itself. It was actually the fifth. When Texas had been released from Mexico's rule in 1836 it hastily drafted a constitution to basically cover itself from from any attacks. It was rushed and therefore nine years later another was written just before the annexation. Then in 1866 Texas after another constitution was written to changes with the times, Texas was trying to rejoin the federal Union and was required to write another new constitution.
The War of 1812 was in itself a catalyst for the shift in the political dynamics of the Democratic-Republicans and the Federalist Party. The trade restrictions that were the British Orders in Council and French Continental System not only challenged America’s neutrality stance but also the political parties’ economic and military stances in order to align with their overarching self-interests. The war waged by Madison against the British was welcomed by Democratic-Republicans concentrated in the South and West, and rejected by the dying Federalists in New England. Formerly against a large military and advocates of a peaceful and neutral foreign policy, the Democratic-Republicans became the ones campaigning for war whereas Anglophile Federalists
What are the great resolution and the great depression really? The great depression was in 1929, but the great revolution was in 1688. The great depression did not just affect the U.SA.(Szostak 22). The great depression and the great revolution where both big problems for the U.S.A., but they were both the same different time periods.

The largest topic, however, was on how the president should be elected. One of the first struggles the men encountered was on who should elect the president. Jefferson's democratic-republican party views are always contradictory to the Federalist party founded by Alexander Hamilton. Jefferson believes in small federal government and more powers to individual states, his policies are around people and they should rule the government. Jefferson always follows strict constitutional rules. Jefferson always believed the country economy will improve through the agriculture. Hamilton views are very contrasted to Jefferson's view.
The Great Compromise which was founded at the Constitutional Convention wasn't formed without trouble. Many of the delegates that participated in the convention were wealthy landowners and lawyers, who owned many slaves. They failed to notice the diversity that excited within the nation. As they talked how to repair the Articles of Confederation, issues would arise that would create continuous debates amongst each other. One of the issues that would arise would be the nature of the new government.
The Panic of 1837 was one of the first major economic crisis in U.S. history. As banks started to grow across the country, the opposition to them also grew, as well as their economic difficulties. It started with President Jackson’s influential idea that the banking system diminished the power of the people and created social class division. As President Jackson strongly enforced his opposition to the banking system, he started retiring all funds that went to banks, as well as refusing its renewal and exchanging paper money for gold and silver. Although there were people who were opposed to the banking system and the value of paper money, interrupting its system led to an economic disaster that caused bankruptcies as well as increased unemployment.

Republicans and Democrats have very different ideas where it comes to the business environment. Republicans tend to oppose increasing minimum wage where businesses keep costs low so they can prosper and all Americans can have access to services and products. The Democrats favor increasing the minimum wage where Americans have more money to purchase goods and also paid trade restrictions to protect jobs. While Republicans favor free trade in order to keep low costs for consumers and make businesses more profitable so they can

The market revolution, which started in 1815, transformed worker lives, and improved the nation vastly; although it also dropped the economy as well. As such, transportation was heavily improved upon, along with manufacturing, banking, and commercial law. However, there were also two panics during the time that occurred that led to many Americans who were anxious and uncertain about working in the country.
