What specific cultural impact did the government and politics have on the 2010s decade? The 2010s decade was full of many events that directly impacted how the decade evolved, in which some of these events produced benefits, and others sought to ruin the American society. When looking at the 2010s, it is known to be a prosperous decade for the global economy, ultimately fueled by economic growth in many countries, an increase in consumer spending and investments, and the emergence of new technologies. But of these events, there were many situations that occurred within our government that sparked nationwide protests, which were either violent, or peaceful, but spoke a very powerful message. The government, along with politics, had a distinctive impact in the 2010s because of nationwide protests, mass shootings, and legal court cases being put into effect. There were many events that sparked interest in the development of the decade, but the main reason the 2010s was shaped by peace and liberty was because of the many protests that occurred. With that, one of the most powerful protests that happened was the Black Lives Matter movement, also known as the BLM movement. “BLM rose to national prominence, demanding justice for Brown’s family and the thousands of unarmed black people murdered by the police.”(Politico Magazine). The mass protests that occurred led to many rights and opportunities being established for minority groups, along with providing equality for the same groups. Mass shootings resulted in many bills and acts being passed to make America a safer place for every individual, but also shaped and changed the American society and how they acted. Lastly, all the legal court cases that took place overall changed the way the government now handles situations, along with providing fairness to every American citizen. With all of this being said, I urge all of you to take a deeper look into the 2010s decade, and you will notice that all of these governmental and political events ultimately shaped how the 2010s decade
