His novel, The Great Gatsby represents many aspects that were similar to his life. In F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel, he used intellectual empathy by imagining himself through The Great Gatsby and many other stories and novels. In The Great Gatsby, Tom and Daisy are married quickly, but Tom cheats on Daisy many times with many diverse people. In the 1920’s is wasn’t likely to divorce their spouse and to marry someone else from a lower class. Throughout the novel The Great Gatsby, Daisy knows Tom has many affairs but stays with him, Tom and Daisy have an unusual and loving relationship, and the time period of the 1920’s that Daisy and Tom live in.

Gatsby’s “Greatness” Greatness is showed by the choices we make in life. From how we see the circumstances and how we react to them. Gatsby is not as great of a man as Nick claims that he is. Gatsby makes foolish, childish and delusional decisions and not at all great.

In F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, characters have very distinct identities that develop throughout the book and many inferences are needed to understand the characters. One example of this is Daisy Buchanan. Daisy Buchanan cares greatly about wealth and is a very careless person. Throughout the novel, many of her decisions are due to her greed and carelessness, even though those decisions may not be the best decisions for her. Daisy displays her greed throughout the novel; she marries Tom Buchanan because of his wealth.

Fitzgerald provides plenty of scenes in The Great Gatsby supporting the ideas whether Gatsby’s love was affectionate, obsession, or objectification. Fitzgerald shows that throughout the story, Gatsby slowly becomes more obsessed with Daisy as he draws closer and closer to be with her. By the end of the book, Gatsby becomes obsessed with Daisy. He only thinks about her and analyze everything in her life. Even in the beginning when the reader finally meets Gatsby, his obsession shows.

Love, a deep affection, is only complete when felt by two unique individuals. In this story Gatsby has become blinded by his affection for Daisy he does not stop to consider anything else but being with her. He has this illusion and fantasy he has longed for since a little boy in his dream. While he has obtained everything else, the fame, glory, and wealth he lacks one thing, a lover. He has his life all crafted out and Daisy was his missing piece.

If Gatsby is to truly love Daisy, instead of destroying her marriage, he would have let her go. However, because of his extreme devotion towards Daisy, he dreams of a utopia where their feelings for each other is mutual. Thus, he demands her to say that she has never loved Tom to affirm that she loves him only, but Daisy does fall in love with Tom at some point in her marriage, in between the five years of Gatsby’s absence. They were once in love, before the war. But, after Gatsby leaves Daisy finds a new man. A man with money that could give her anything she desired. Everything except love that is. Gatsby could give her love at the time, but not money.

In Tom and Daisy’s relationship, it shows that money can ruin relationships but if you see past that barrier of money there are little pieces of love that stand out more than money. However, at the end of the day Tom and Daisy have money, are united, but they are not happy with each other. Gatsby’s relationship with Daisy includes both money and love. By this Fitzgerald is suggesting that it is possible to have love, however, it leads to difficulties because you can either have the dedication of Gatsby trying to get what he wants and never give up, or you can accept reality and realize how you will not be able to achieve your

Ambitions: Myrtle and Daisy had chased both love and money, at different point in their life. For both of them, it is their ambition and dreams that they seek to fulfill themselves with. Regardless of their backgrounds, they remain the same in their wants towards something they don’t have, or in Daisy’s case, choosing what they want over everything else, regardless of how much they already have of it. Myrtle had married Wilson, not for the money he had owned, as he did not own any, but simply because she “thought that he was a gentleman”. However, Myrtle’s ambition was money, because when Wilson neither produced riches nor at the very least, gave her the love initially wanted, she turned to Tom to receive them both.

They both love Daisy in their own way and do not want to lose her. Gatsby states, “Both of us loved each other all that time” (Fitzgerald 138). Gatsby wants Daisy to tell Tom she never loved him so that they can be together, but she cannot because it would not be true. Daisy says to Gatsby, “I did love him once-but I loved you too”(Fitzgerald 140). Daisy used to love both of them but chooses Tom because she is used to life with Tom and does not change.

They all had made decisions based on love and money, no matter the consequences, no matter if it was good or bad they still made those decisions through the love they had for someone and their desire for money. Tom Buchanan 's love for daisy was pure and true throughout the book the great gatsby he even made some hard decisions all out the love possesed for her. A very critical part of the the novel was when tom 's wife had killed George Wilson 's wife Myrtle Wilson in a automotive accident. When George came to tom about what happened questioning him about who killed his wife, Tom could see that George was furious and would be willing to do anything to the person who killed his beloved wife.

The Great Gatsby, written by Scott Fitzgerald, features the “American dream”. This dream comes with the fake perception of a person receiving everything they could only hope for. Scott’s romanticism plays as a major influence in his writings and his idea of reaching his own American dream. Scott Fitzgerald’s image of the good life is portrayed the through his writings of binging and a better self-image, but can he interpret the difference between fantasy and his own life realities? .
