The battles were fought on the 19th of april 1775 in Middlesex County, Province of Massachusetts Bay, within the towns of Lincoln, Concord, Lexington , Cambridge, and Menotomy. They marked the outbreak of armed conflict between the colonial and british armies. In 1774 the colonial leaders adopted Suffolk in resistance against the alterations made to the colonial government of massachusetts by the british parliament following the boston tea party

After the American Revolution and America declared independence much changed within the newly independent nation. Particularly political and social, and to a lesser extend economically as well. After breaking away from the England Government Americans leaders formed the concepts of their ideal society. Independence brought change to woman and slaves. Woman gained more freedom and many slaves were set free.

This was one of many battles that the American Army would win. One of the biggest battles of The American Revolutionary War was the Battle of Yorktown. “You are not aware that Cornwallis surrendered to General Washington, Cornwallis surrendered to General Washington on the nineteenth of October, in Virginia, at the port of Yorktown” (Bristow 382). The British were trapped at Yorktown, Virginia and British General Lord Cornwallis surrendered 8,000 British troops (Citation). This was a tremendous victory for The American Army!

Although the battles at Lexington and Concord signified the start of the revolutionary war, the colonies declaration for independence wasn’t signed until 1776. From that time, each colony began to act as its own separate republic. The colonial assemblies continued to meet and several states even wrote their own constitutions. Although there was forward progress at the state level, the forming of a national government was slow and relatively unsuccessful. The Continental Congress was the only representation of a national entity and was more of a coordinating body rather then a government.

The Declaration of Independence was a document that freed the colonies from Britain. After the French and Indian War the British put out a new control called the Proclamation Line of 1763. The Proclamation Line of 1763 didn 't allow the colonies from settling west from the Appalachian Mountains. Another act that King George III put into place is called the Stamp Act. The Stamp Act is a law that required that the colonists buy and place tax stamps on many kinds of documents.

The British forced their way into Pennsylvania defeated the American army under General George Washington. His army failed to pull off his complex plan.

The battle of Cowpens took place in South Carolina on January 17, 1781 between the Continental Army under Brigadier General Daniel Morgan and the British forces under Lieutenant Colonel Banastre Tarleton. The battle of Cowpens is known to be the turning point of the war and one of the most significant battle of the Revolutionary War. It brought the war closer to an end, as well as an American victory after so many defeats, whilst boosting American confidence and morale and slowing down momentum for the British forces. The battle was a much-needed battle for the American’s morale as they started to lose faith that they could win the war.

The Battle of Valley Forge was the turning point of the Revolutionary War. Although no actual military battle was waged here, George Washington’s Continental Army faced some physical and mental battles of their own in this Pennsylvania town. It was here at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania where the Continental Army Soldiers of the Revolutionary War chose to go after being defeated in the Battle of Germantown in October 1777. During this winter, Washington’s troops came to this encampment to recuperate and train for future battles with the British.

The ratification of the U.S. Constitution was not only a political turning point, but also an economic turning point in the history of the United States. This change in America was desperately needed because they needed stability following the war. The results of the ratification of the constitution were huge politically and economically in the sense it created a stronger central government, led to the Hamilton Financial Plan, and made the U.S. a more stable nation with more economic prosperity and opportunity. Politically, the ratification of the constitution was a big turning point for the U.S. because it formed a stronger central government.
