What makes someone a hero or a villain? There is a president who should be considered a bad one. Andrew Jackson was a villain, he and his policies led to or went along with the Trail of Tears, westward expansion and the indian removal act. These led to death and removing people from their land. A big one being the Trail of Tears.

For example, Jackson included the common man as part of the government, which became the Jacksonian Democracy. This allowed citizens to be part of the government, though they had no experience. Because congress passed the tariff crisis, it made European goods more expensive, which led to the South to protest. However, the south said that they could nullify or secede from the union.

These listed reasons would make anyone a national hero, but some of the decisions he made ruined his reputation. The tariff that Jackson proposed was too high. So high that Southerners had trouble affording products, and South Carolina made a stance; they threatened to secede.
